Default s10 owners

well i dont know weather its a 4.8 or a 5.3 off a 2003 yukon with about 30000 miles. and i would love to put it in my 82 s10 how hard would this be to install and modify it doesnt have to be a single second truck. but something thats fast and reliable any info will be apprciated thanks.

hey thanks and would i really have to cut the k member? and does the carb intake for the ls1 fit the 5.3 i really wouldnt wanna mess with all that wiring and i only need an alternator and a ewp. and would my sbc headers fit the 5.3. and does that motor have a lot of power potential?

sure does, many people are doing it with carbs..no dice on the headers,sanderson has a nice set.here is a nice one on its way to being completed.

BTW the factory ex.manifolds are not very restrictive!

it takes a bit of work but i have seen them work,drivers side is the problem but not too bad.

if you do not have to sell it don't!
did you look how many people have our truck and doing these swaps every day.i love mine it is a work horse! its a 95 350 but will soon have a Ls.
in fact as soon as i get more work i will convert all my toys to Ls based drivetrains

The carb stuff to run the ls will cost you more than just keeping it fuel injected. Plus you can't beat the fi for driveability. As far as working on it if you keep it tame. A stock ls with a small cam and boltons it will run for 100k without maintenance. That is how I am building mine.

yeah i was checking that out that the harness cost 750 and the intake cost like 680 plus i need the carb. so i rather just keep it fi and will the 5.3 bolt up to my th350. and so far i have found out that i need all these parts correct me if im wrong and add any things that i might need.
1 wiring harness
2 headers
3 motormounts
4 maybe a transmission
5 differany trottle body (mine is electric)
6 upgraded fuel system.
