Basic WG Q

Basic WG Q
I am trying to decide on a Tial WG for my appl.
I am building and gathering parts for a turbo setup.
ST80 producing 450-500rwhp on the street and then 850+rwhp on the track.
I have to find a way to bleed out all that extra pressure and i am wondering if the Tial 41mm WG would do the job? (if not, then what)
Also does something have to be done to the WG if i plan on running leaded fuel?
Thanks!

I think you are good as far as the brand goes, for sure go with Tial, but why not go with the 44mm WG, I am not sure if the 41mm would be good for 850+rwhp. You cant go wrong with the 44mm, and I dont think there is that big of a price difference. just my .2 cents. I am sure others will chime in here as well.

Big Turbo/Low Boost = Bigger Wastegate
Big Turbo/High Boost = Smaller Wastegate
Small Turbo/High Boost = Smaller Wastegate
Small Turbo/Low Boost = Bigger Wastegate
The Tial 41 is an kind of an oddball gate...Its flange is different from the 44 and it is not a vband style, it makes clocking it a pain...
Personally I really like the Tial 44mm wastegate or the Turbosmart ProGate 48 - The nice thing about the turbosmart is that it comes with multiple spring options which allows you to adjust boost in the gate right out of the box...The Tial you have to buy additional springs or use a boost controller...which is probably ok for you.
The leaded gas will not make any difference to the gate itself, but higher temps will effect it. Either one (Tial or Turbosmart) will be fine in this case.

I can't get below 17 psi boost using a T76GTS on a 388 and a Tial 40 mm WG. I've been considering going to a JGS Precision 40 or 50. The JGS valves have alot of lift, so the 40 can flow more than a Tial 40.

Just make sure the diaphram on the JGS stuff is rated for race gas. I know on Tial stuff you have to get a race gas diaphram since any unburnt gas will eat a hole in it. I would have to agree on the 50+ mm that Jose told you. On my buddies 67 nova 383 with twin gt42r's we had two tial v60's with 1.01 a/r for peace of mind when he runs it on the corn.
