Default which gauges are necessary when procharging

Okay next month I'm procharging my car. I was wondering which gauges are necessary besides a boost gauge. I really only want to get a dual pod setup as I really don't like the 3 gauge look. If you have pics of your setup let me see them so I can get an idea.

Thanks

You should get a fuel pressure gauge as well. And a really nice gauge to have is a wideband.

I agree with the abov, atleast those 3 minimum and if its an auto than add a trans temp gauge to the mix, especially if its a 4l60-e. I see in your sig its an M6 though.

I assume your using 60# injectors, so you need the 100#

low pressure is for carbureted engines. Fuel injection requires the 100psi gauge. Base fuel pressure for an LS1 is 58psi. So get the 100psi gauge. I agree with the statements above- you need boost, fuel pressure, and wideband.

If you're only going to get two, get a boost and a wideband. I'm not running a fuel pressure gauge, I rely on the wide band to tell me if it is leaning out.

The fuel pressure is cheaper than a wideband though.

I feel that for two gauges a fuel pressure and a boost gauge are the two to go with.
Fuel pressure at idle should be approx 58-60 psi, at wide open throttle it will drop down to approx 54 psi on a stock style fuel pressure with an adequate fuel pump. With knowing this info and with what you normally see with your system, if the pressure changes then you'll know you have a problem.
A boost gauge will allow you to make sure you're still seeing the same amount of boost that you did on that first boosted day, as once you get use to the extra power, you're start wondering if the belt is slipping. lol Bob

ok thanks everybody. I think I will go with boost and fuel pressure for now. maybe add a wideband somewhere else besides the pillar.

My personal $0.02 is a wideband AFR and fuel pressure. If I only ran one gauge, it would definetly be AFR. No other gauge says "Hey stupid, get off the f$%^'n gas or you'll blow your engine!!" like the wideband AFR gauge.

I have AFR, fuel pressure and boost....and to be honest, I rarely ever check the boost gauge.

If you must only have 2, I'd say boost and wideband. But you really do need all 3 minimum...

I've got the same problem. I had a 3-pod pillar and didn't like how it looked, so I sold it and bought a 2-pod pillar. The third gauge on the 3-pod pillars is positioned fairly awkwardly.

Anyways, I'll be running all of three of the above-mentioned gauges, and I'm trying to decide where the third gauge is going to go, and which gauge it will be. I know one of the sponsors carries some nice little rectangular displays for AFR, but I was really thinking I'd like to have AFR on the pillar so I could see it more easily. Still something I'm trying to figure out.

You have a couple choices for gauge placement. One is on the steering column (see my sig pic). Another I did on my friend Ricky's ProCharged car is to slot an Autometer trim ring and place it in the vent above the headlight switch. Looks great there and only takes a couple hours to mod. I don't have pics of that one, but he does (screen name RickyZ28)
