Default Car is having trouble idling...lots of surging.

Mods are in sig. The car has always had a little surge with the TR230 cam, but it has started surging really bad and dies fairly often, especially in the first few minutes after startup.... hot or cold.

I've done a PCM reset and an idle relearn (tried more than once) and it hasn't changed even after driving a few hundred miles

Any ideas? Plugs maybe? I have about 10k on some TR6's.

I'll check over the hoses tomorrow.

MTI did the tuning.

10k is alot of miles on TR6's. I'd just switch those out anyway for performance issues. I believe most change them every 3-5k.

But check the hoses that go form the valve covers to the intake and etc. Might be a leak. Also just check and make sure the intake bolts are all tq'ed down good.

if not, maybe the hooter weather has played some effects on the car. I mean did the car just start to get worse in the warmer air?

might need higher idle, tb drilled a little more, or some timing added in park. That cam can be a PITA in some cars from what I see, but mostly A4's

good luck and wish i coulda helped more

I had a set of Autolite plugs that were a step colder for my nitrous setup and I went 40K and several bottles of the juice before I changed them and they didn't show anything major and wore only alittle.

Definetly sounds like a vacuum problem. Measure engine vacuum at idle, you need at the very least 17 Hg.
