Futral F13 Users Have you swapped out your F13 for anything? Results? Track Times?
Anyone that is currently running the FMS F13 or that has run the F13 or a very similar grind(IE 230-230, 230-234, 228-232), Have you ever wanted more out of there car?
Ever wish you had gone bigger?
Ever wish you had gone smaller?
Have any before and after Track times or Dyno Numbers?
I really like the results, the history, Dyno #s, track times and everything else about the F13 but like alot of fellow LS1 owners, I am considering going larger... perhaps just a little larger(F14, TR TRAK/TSP TV3) or Possibly going ***** out G5X2,3&4 MS3&4 anywhere from a 23X to a 24X on a 110-112.
I've driven a 224 car before and it was cool, just not exactly scary or amazing...
How many of you have decided to step it up and go with a ballsout max effort Donkey dick cam over a slightley smaller proven performer like the F13 or TR230/227, MTI X1?
My setup is LTs With 3" duals dumped
Vig 3600(4000 RPM converter in reality)
bolt ons, lid, PP TB, ASP, Racetronix, LS6 intake(No 90/90 in the near future)...
3.23's willing to step up to 3.73's(No 4.10's in my A4)
16" ET Street Radials
3350-3425lbs with me in it
100 Wet on the street/150 at the Track
My only limitation is RPM, I have a 98 with the weaker rod bolts and don't wanna take it over 6600-6800. I'd prefer to shift it around 6500-6650(maybe 6800 but I believe thats gonna be pushing it on stock rod bolts)
I have an Awesome tunner available but am constantly battleing to play it safe or go Big....

I believe it was the early 2000...
BTW some food for thought....
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...=756002&page=2
Look specificly at post #26 from Ron@Vengence where Ron compares the Vindicator to a smaller 226-228 cam that he makes...
Although the Vindicator peaks much higher it makes insane numbers all across the graph...
Hmm F13 vs Vindicator???

nah, i had a 224 but changed to a t-rex before they had the trak cam. i love it but it takes a lot of tuning for the street. i have a 99 with the crappy rod bolts and have 600 rwhp with the nitrous and no problems spinning to 7000 rpm. go big! just my .02

Here is one argument that makes me want to go towards a G5X3 or Vindicator
Post#265 John B

Basicly the arguement is if a well speced out Big Stick with excellent VEs is capable of making more power all across the board why not take the cam that makes more power all across the board...

yeah and i was spinning like hell in order to run that fast my mph was up there if i would have hooked i could have been in the mid 10's I wasnt spraying. I had a radical tune on head and cam set up. Also I dont know exactly how far I spun it was the second time to the track on new setup. I was on nittos, I spun like hell. There where guys with less motor that where hooking and beating me, Im just saying...hook to hook I would say go bigger with heads because he ill run faster.

If you have the f13 already and are not worried about dyno numbers as much as track numbers then stay with it. If you dont have it yet then go through cam motions and get one.
It makes good avg numbers with a strong area under the curve. I have a heavy car and it works good with my combo to haul ***.

to be honest here, i dont think any one cam is best. I would say if you can find a couple of people who have different cams and go for a ride to see how they run, you could make a decision. i just went on a lim and got the t-rex, but who knows, i might of went with something else if i got one now. all i can say for my personnal experience is that my 80000 mile 99 SS with god knows what headers (came with the car), lifters, springs, stock TB, LS6 intake, and t-rex, and the car was an animal once i tuned it. the best i could trap in palmdale was 118mph. heads helped later, but the cam is fun. just make sure you pick what you want because it is your car and you have to drive it. i can say with a race clutch, a t-rex suck ***** in traffic.
