weld draglight prob. So here's the deal,
About five months ago I got my draglights from summit racing. Mounted my slicks on em and of to the track I went. Got there, jacked my car up and slaped on my new slicks. First time to take a run with slicks is moments away, I'm pumped as the first time I saw a boob. Drop the car down and get my helmet to rip off to the staging lanes, fire the car up and let out the cluch, and something is wrong. It's draging the brake caliper in the inside of the rim!!! Totaly awsome...... Any suggestions?
I ground off the aluminum fins from the corner of the calliper to get them to work but it still rubs. What do you guys do? It's a 95 z28

I had to grind a lot off mine to make them work. 15x8 5.5 backspacing. I can't believe you didn't test fit at home first.

I forgot to mention at the begining, your gonna laugh at how dumb I am. I work to dam much and It was a case of getting the rubber mounted the day before driving the two hours to the track. No excusses but I should of test fit em I know.
I've got arp studs @2 and a half inches long so I think I'm all good. What I forgot to mention is that the inside of the rim was scored. Any idea how thick the aluminum is on the draglights? There 15x8 and I'm not sure of the back spacing but I think there the standard rim. I told the guys at summit about the size slicks I ran (26 x 10 I think) and they sent them to me.
I didn't know about this site even two monts ago or I would of done things different or at least been informed, no one has our type of car where I live. Thanks for the info, I'm gonna keep grinding I don't like the Idea of spacers.
