Default what oil and filters to get...

ok so i bought my first trans am about a month ago and want to change the oil......the previous owner used german castrol, so im debating what to put in there now........
A)German Castrol
B)Mobile 1
C)Royal Purple
D)Amsoil

so could you guys break it down for me and tell me what is the best oil i should use.....also what filters are the best to use....

i dont want to start a debate just what has been proven to hold up under hard driving condition...the car is not a DD if that matter

I use CASTROL...DELCO Filter...GOLD---you can get them here.

Why can't you.??? I got my last 2..only 3 weeks ago...[i get 2 at a time]

I was using mobil 1 5-30, and switched it to the castrol 0-30 as most guys run, before I put her away for storage. Same with my S10, have run mobil 1 5-30 for 5 1/2 yrs, 125,000 miles never have problems. But just herd the castrol was far superior

Valvoline Max Life Synthetic, K&N filter, it has a 1 inch bolt on the bottom, real easy to take off

mobil 1 synthetic and valvoline pure one filter

i rounded off my drain bolt so now theres a socket hammered onto it. makes it that much easier to change my oil

honestly its kind of opinion and what everyone else has heard or knows about what they run personally so its going to be biased, just pick what you feel comfortable with or what has previously been running in it since your motors still going strong

If you can find it German Castrol is hard to beat. Royal Purple seems to be a double edged sword. My advice is to start with GC, then on the next oil change if you want to, try something different. See what you like.

yea the car was previously running on GC so i think ill stick with that for now and next chanmge go to RP and see which i like better.

I use Val Syn with AC filter. It is personal preference. If the previouse owner was using the GC, wouldnt be a bad idea to just stick with it. IMO
