:cry:ok,so me and COPSS were on our way to san diego,traffic slowed down to a stop and then it happened! i felt the wrath of a 2002 kia spectra!!!lol..he hit the back of my car:cry: his car was gone from the front end and mine??what do you think?? and i should hear back from my insurance on monday.

Wow, that's pretty bad bro. The same thing happened to me back in July, not as bad as yours, and my insurance company dished out 9 grand because the other guy only had a property damage limit of 5.

My rear quarter panels weren't bent like yours. The damage on the outside doesn't look bad, but look at all the inner damage.

^^^ What kind of person gets property damage limit of 5 thousand?? Aside from that, what kind of insurance company will have that as an option?! That's a joke.

A year ago I was getting ready to exit a gas station, and some woman in an Expedition backed right in to my Camaro.. it banged up the back really bad and completely knocked off my aftermarket spoiler. =( It totaled my car (it was a 95) but I can't be too mad now, 'cause I have my TA. But I know it sucks, and I doubt the insurance company will want to salvage it with that little bit of damage..

Sorry to hear that...looking t the back it doesnt look too bad but Ive never seen one crunch the quarter panel bad enough to put a kink behine the drivers door like that.

they take alot of factors into consideration. the do KBB. they get a couple cars off the current market value. I.E. (autotrader) and they give you an amount off that. they gave me 18,299 for my T/A 60k miles

It all depends on the KBB value. Insurance companies, depending on what carrier you have, will only cover up to 75% of the value of the car. If he goes to an insurance assigned repair shop, I guarantee you the estimate will be around 10G

It's hard to say...for the quarter panel to buckle like that, could be some minimal frame damage, but nothing that can't be corrected. Just keep your fingers crossed. Keep us posted.

Whenever I was hit by someone else, I never talked to their insurance company, my insurance company handled everything.

My camaro go rearended a month back, its in the body shop right now, so far the ins co has come up with 5100 in damages and thats just the outside, one the shop opened it up there is more inside so who knows how much it will be in total. The down side is the ins co is close to totaling the car.

Nothing like rebuilding the motor and forging it 2 months ago just to get the car totaled.

I think he got a shops estimate at around 5500 , but he has not dropped it off yet to check frame damage!!!!

WTF!! A shop can give you an estimate without even seeing the car.

We took it to the shop then he looked at it, but he hasnt left it so he can further inpect it. My bad left that part out. at least it doesnt looked salvaged yet.

wats up guys tomorrow i am goin to make an appointment with the other guys ins to get an inspection from infinity only a visual.after that i take it to what ever shop i want and then they will send infinity theire own estimate.i got an est from one shop already and he said 5,500 but i dont trust it, he only saw the outside!!!and did not even lift the carpet in the trunk!!! i dont know about him.....i think i will go to the chevy dealer in san bernardino they have a big ass body shop and guarenteed gm parts!

And a guaranteed HUGE bill. Just make sure that the other guys property damage has enough to cover the entire thing plus your rental costs. I made the mistake of not checking and then found out once the car was taken apart. I had through go through my policy, and had to fork out the deductible (I got it back, but why would you want to pay for it if it wasn't your fault)
