www.ls1howto.com is your friend. Not sure about corvette specific instructions, but here are some thoughts:
- Rent/Buy the Crane spring tool! Cuts the spring time in half, and if you have an air ratchet, it could go even faster.
- $1 wood dowels with oil on them to hold up the lifters, worked perfect
- Check the oil pan bolts when you start the car, make sure you don't lose 3+ quarts of oil (AMHIK )
- Careful with the oil pump pickup tube o-ring (if you're replacing it)
- Get some Crane Assembly lube for the cam and for the locks on the springs, helps keep the on the valve when replacing.
- Don't feel stupid asking questions here, I asked plenty of dumb ones via PM and posting.
- Get ready for perma-grin when you first fire it up
Good luck.

Take your time, and enjoy the process. Just really watch your *** when you are pulling the oil pickup tube bolt out and re-installing it, as well as the O-Ring. I found that to be the nail-biter for me.
Above all, if for some reason you do get jammed up. STOP what you are doing and come post here for help.

you can find tools a lot cheaper than what you think if you look around in the tools section. I used the spring tool I bought off one of the guys in there (Tim's Tool), and a balancer installer from there as well. Got a 6' 5/16 steel dowel rod from Home Depot, cut it in half, bent the ends up, and you now have a lifter retaining tool.
tie string on the oil pump pickup tube bolt or you will never see it again. its a royal PITA to get in and out too.
here was my list o' crap, compare to yours
TSP Cam Kit (cam, PRC dual Springs, retainers, gaskets/seals, 7.450 pushrods, crank bolt)
LS2 chain
gasket set
Antifreeze
oil filter
Oil
Thread Locker
Thread Sealant
Permatex Ultra Copper
Brake Cleaner
valve spring compressor
3 claw puller
5/16 dowel rods
balancer installation tool
1/2 drive 24mm socket
1/2 drive Breaker bar
extra locks

Not to hijack your thread. My cam is on order and I have my springs so its a matter of time before I start mine. I read the cam guide sticky and it is showing using the degree wheel when installing the cam. Is that a necessity? I plan on lining mine up on the dots with no retard or advance. In what scenario would one use the degree wheel?
