Should I do rod bolts?
I'm swapping the K Member and need to replace the oil pan gasket. I was going to put in new rod bolts while I had the pan off. As most of you know ktech's are on back order so that leaves ARP's. The motor is an 02 with 18k on the clock and I shift it at 6900. Limiter is set at 7200.
Let me know what you all think, keep the stock '02 bolts or go with ARP? Anyone spinning an '02 like this? Any problems?

If you have the time and the money, I would do it. Especially in the range that you shift at. The little bit of time and money you spend now, could save you big in the future.

I'm sure you'll hear it from someone so I'll go first. If you do the ARP's you'll need to get the big end of the rod checked. They are not the same weight as the Katechs and are not meant to be used as a simple swap and go. The Katechs are meant to be a direct replacement for stock, the ARP's are not. Some people have success just swapping them in and chancing it. Some people don't. However, if it was my motor and my money, I would get it checked for peace of mind. Your call.

Time is not a factor and money is not really a problem, ( I know, just buy a shortblock... ). I just don't want to waste either one of them. Also, if I had a pre 2000, I'd put in the ARP's without resizing the rod end but, don't want to chance that with the already upgraded '02.

Get the rod checked for what. You are swapping a bolt for a bolt. What goes wrong. Sorry to highjack but someone needs to clarify this issue.

As far as I know, it's because when you change rod bolts, you can change the "roundness" of the big end of the rod. ARP says to resize, (check for true and size), the big end of the rod when you use their bolts.
