Default Greg Weld Dragstars(6.5 bs) w/275 M/T ?

I have wanted pro stars for a hell of a long time and know when I finally decide to buy them, Summit starts advertising a new wheel by Greg Weld. Which is the exact as the weld XP's. Summit Racing's prices: 15x10-$140.00..15x3.5-$110.00. So for a set would be about 500 bucks compares to pro stars at 750 for a set. Plus lugs which have to be from Greg Weld. So add another 50 bucks. BUT here is the catch, the 15x10 wheel is only available in the 6.5 BS. Not the 7.5 like pro stars. I have done hours of searching and come up with a few people who think that 6.5 pro stars dont look to bad on the TA, seeing how the rear fenders are a bit wider than other f-bodys. I am still yet to find any pictures of 6.5 BS on a 10 inch wheel. Supposedly there is no grinding, or BFH going on with the install. I originally wanted to run the famous 325 M/T on the rear. But after reading threw the threads, and seeing the times guys are laying down with 275 M/T(7.84 @ 179 w/ 1.34 60ft-Current issue of GM high-tech performance). I am starting to think that 325s are more just for show. So I will probably end up buying this wheel combo for my 2000 WS6, and see how it turns out if no one can show me a picture to prove that these wont work fine with the 275/60/15 M/T's. If anyone has this combo, or just a 6.5 bs please show them. Dont comment if you are just going of what other forums have said about 6.5 bs. I want some facts, not theory damnit!!!!!

The unrivalled engineering and design of these wheels makes them the perfect choice for your street rod, race car, or daily driver.
I think that is what everyone around here wants to see.

Unforetunatly- it says they won't ship til mid MAY now...it keeps getting further away.

I have seen ALOT of T/A's running the 6.5"bs with no problems. My 11" tt2's are 7.75 bs- so that tells me that a 10" w/6.5 would only set out another 1/4 of an inch- I don't think that'd cause me any trouble.

Right on man. I just checked Summit out, and they say that the wheels can ship as early as the 23 of this month. Is that bull crap or is it just greg weld who isnt shipping? I cant wait to see a pair of these on our style car, I think they will finally be the alternative to those expensive *** pro stars.

I e-mailed Greg Weld about 2 days ago, and I just got this responds.

Kyle,

Thanks for the e-mail!

Currently we only offer the 6.5” BS. The 7.5”BS is due at the later part of Summer. Keep in touch at GregWeld.com as we are putting updates on the site as they become available.

Mike H.

So by the looks of things at the end of the summer if the 6.5's stick out to far, or you just HAVE to have that 7.5bs, you are in luck.

Called up Summit today, and asked them about the availability of the DragStar wheel by Greg Weld, and they said they haven't got a shipment of the wheels yet, and are just waiting for the whole lawsuit thing to get over with before they start selling them. He didn't have a predicted date, just no earlier than may, and as late as july or even august. So yea, if you were planning on getting a pair for the summer like I was we may be screwed, and have to resort back to the pro stars, or bogarts. If anyone else has any info please let the us know.

If (guy above) order 15x8 with 6.5 BS you ordered the wrong dimensions. Need 5.5 BS

I run Weld Draglites 15x10 7.5 bs with MT 325/50's- they're a little heavier than the 275/60's, but they work and look good to me.
