I've talked to a few people that have ran 12-14 psi and that seemed to be the breaking point for them BUT each engine is different.

If you have no IC and no meth at that boost level you are asking for motor killing detonation.

10 PSI and no Intercooler and/or Meth and you can wave bye bye to cylinder #7. 8 PSI is still pushing it with no intercooler. Even with a dead on tune I give it 2 weeks to 3 months tops. Have Rob @ SP over in Van Nuys fab you up a front mount... He did it for a buddie of mine for around $800~ It came out lookinking sick as ****, It's money WELL spent.

Have you ever Logged a WOT run? I bet your IATs are in the 120-150 range and the ECU is pulling timing like a ****...

Dude, I was running 8 psi when I first got the kit. After much learning, listen to what everyone is saying. Turn this boost down now until you get the stuff you need. Get something to cool the IAT's, and get a wideband or something to keep track of your AFR. What kind of fuel setup do you have? If you get the car dyno tuned now, you'll just have to do it again when you get the right mods.

with no cooling methods, i would think you would blow something up coming out of the hole with boost

well being that i cant launch yet due to a stock 10 bolt..i wouldnt leave under boost yet any way...id like to have it for down the road and not to mention the intimidation factor when u get a 8000RPM Buzz bomb of a ricer next to u that still thinks The Fast And The Furious is the way to live by

A 2 step should be WAYYY down your list of mods to come
If I were you I would buy/do in order

1.Back the boost down to 5-6PSI for safety till you purchase more components

2. Front Mount Intercooler to drop your IATS to safe ambiet levels

3. Racetronix fuel pump or Twin GS340 Walbro pumps, one setup all the time and one boost refrenced if you want to get fancy

4. Get that sucker tuned, Bump the car to 8-9 PSI

5. Grab some 6.0 Liter heads, ported if you can with some Dual springs and you might as well do a small cam at this point, Now that you have your compression at 9:1 or so you could up the boost to 10+ if your bored of the 500+RWHP you will make on 8-9PSI and are willing to risk buying a new shortblock.

In reality Steps 1-4 should be done immediately before the kit was bolted on....

If you do decide to go with a two step right now I have a feeling your mod list will go like this

1. Two Step 200-400$

2 Up the boost to 10 PSI unintercooled, untuned, on stock fuel pump
Free

2. New shortblock and kleenex to wipe the tears away from sending a rod out the block or blowing a gasket 3000-7000

3. Buy a beater car and put around for 3-6 months untill you can have a new motor built with a new fuel system, Intercooler, and tune, that you choose to bypass earlier 3000-8000

well i just got the car tuned ths past saturday (3-22-08) by Rob at Strictly Perfomance Motorsports and it made 450 H.P. and 446 LB/FT...this is at 7.3 psi...it boosted 8 until 5200 but once it got to 6200 it dropped....some work to do...im getting and intercooler in the next couple weeks so my IAT's should come down nicley...then rear end is getting replaced...and Thank's to Sean over at Extreme Motorsports for letting us have a dyno day on a day they normally dont dyno.

good job bro. get that intercooler and then start to play around. 8 psi with intercooler is BY FAR better than 8 psi with NO INTERCOOLER

So what is the main boost pressure that you would consider running if you did have a FMIC with 70/30 meth water mix. Right now the car is 4.5 psi 420 RWHP. 9lbs 520RWHP. From what I was reading with the intercooler and meth 4.5 is way to low. The car has upgraded valve springs and pushrods and 255 fuel pump and a full STS kit any help? what should the AFR be @ under WOT? running 11.0 all the way up the RPM scale.
