Do I need new wires & plugs?
I posted my car sucks up gas too much, told MTI about it and they suggested to get a tune up. My car has 40k miles.
Thanks,

I doubt a car as new as a '02 SS would benefit from new plugs and wires. If your engine has stock internals, it's probably not a tuning problem either. How bad is the gas mileage? It could be your driving style; you have a lot of HP available with these cars, if you use it all the time, they will eat fuel. You must burn fuel to release energy no mater how efficient an engine is.

There is something goobered with your car or your math is messed up.
I would check for sensors unplugged and get a scantool hooked up to that thing.
You may want to check your O2 sensors as well. A bad O2 sensor, or exhaust leak is a prime suspect for poor gas mileage.
Changing your sparkplugs never hurts either. The stock ignition wires are just fine.
Good Luck,
Kevin

Exhaust Leak might be it. When getting my oil changed I have a big dent in my SLP Y-Pipe so that hard of a hit could have or be causing a exhaust leak. I'll have that checked out.
