Yes it goes in the slotted hole. What noise is it making? Sound like rubbing? If so the screws for the rotor could be loose or your cam dowle is to long, or last but not least its making noise on the timing cover seal.

did you have the o-ring or the square style gasket that came with it, some guys have installed it wrong with the o-ring and it made the rotor rub on that plasctic backing plate, runining it. I bought the square gaskets myself for it and was much easier to intstall. if the opti is installed wrong on the cam it ushally will not start.

So did you convert everything or did you just buy the MSD opti that would convert your existing setup to a vented type?

i would check that since your getting a noise, i think the dowel is supposed to be out around .6XX from the cam.

At the same time? If you changed over the chain to a double chain, it could be rubbing the front cover. There are a few people on here who have had to clearance the front cover when swithcing over to a double roller.

was working on the car when I pulled it off. had a electric WP (That I sold him as well) and I was using a regular LT1 GM Chain with all this.. the only problems I could see with the opti is if the screws backed out.. or its 180 out because it was working fine with me

and I know im not even being accused but here it is on my car a week before removal
