Building my own 9"

Building my own 9"
I have decided to build my own 9". I have been reading through several post and saw that alot of people are pleased with the midwest rearends. Actually i havent seen one bad thing about them yet. But I want to buy just the housing and build it myself. I work at an off road shop and we deal with gears all the time so i get labor free and parts are at a discount. Has anybody else done this? If so how much did you have into the whole rearend? Would i be able to use my stock brakes? Should i upgrade my lca while im at it?

This Moser housing/axle package is also a great way to go. $1000,00 shipped, then you can assemble and install your own third member. This comes with the torque arm mount, and it's designed to bolt right into your car. Bob

It just depends on what kinda center section your gonna buy. If you get one off ebay they are usually good to about 4-500hp & can be had for $500-800 + shipping. A separate center section bought from Moser or even a vendor will cost you over $1000 easily usually.
The biggest benefit to buying a complete rear from a aftermarket company is it will come with a warranty & customer service.

You are the first one that I have ever seen say that about us. Who did you hear that from? We go out of our way to help people out, even people who don't buy things from us. Bob

also, most people that set up their rear ends usually are the ones bitching that they whine. i had mine set up from my fabricator and it is amazingly quite. also, epp is a good place to go. at sema this last year when they introduced the new rear end i talked with them for 2 hours about the car and they were cool about it. they are where i will go for the wifes rear when i get more money.
