My 98 Camaro SS
Well I've actually been a member here for a while now but I figured I'd make an official intro thread. I just bought this 98 Camaro SS about a month ago, traded in a 97 GTP and some cash for it. In the past I was all about the 3.8L fwd GM cars- I have a 91 Lumina that has been mid 12s, had a 97 Red GTP, and had a 97 black GTP. The Camaro came with headers and dual exhaust, I just bought a Vig 3600 converter for it and I soon will be running a 100-150 shot on it. I also have HPTuners and its tuned for speed density, no maf. Here is a crappy vid and a few pictures:
Hope to be taking it out to the track soon. My immediate plans for it are getting the converter and tranny cooler installed and getting some 28" tall E/T drag radials for it. The car seems to run pretty solid right now, I'd expect to see it go 13.0-13.2 around here, hoping that the converter gets me solid 12s, like 12.6-12.8, and hopefully the bottle will give me my first ever 11 sec pass.

Put a 2.3L Whipple on it, headers, tuned on E85, slicks, and lightened it to around 3300 lbs: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...deoID=12400922

I've heard many different things on the rear end but I am of the personal opinion that if it ain't broke yet, don't fix it. So I'll just wait until it goes. I dont ever plan on running more than a 150 shot and I might eventually get a cam but that would be it. With my Lumina I ended up going over board on it so much and in the end I was happiest with it when it had a stock GTP engine and a 75 shot, the car went 12.7 @ 111 and would run 12s on street tires. With the Camaro I just want to keep it simple and do what works.
BTW the Lumina is for sale if anyone is interested $2000 and it no longer has the Whipple, stock Eaton M90 and it runs mid 13s.
