Default Another conversion comes to life!

After 6 months of planning, and slowly gathering parts, My 63 Chevy II is now running with a beefed up 5.3/4l60E. I have to be honest, I am a first gen SBC guy, and the thought of fuel injection scared me. I'll be damn if the car did not start on the first turn of the key! She sounds really sweet with open headers. I have not driven it yet due to not having brakes, but I cant wait! Video clips to follow soon!

SWEEEEEEEEEEEETTTT.

Congrats Bro. I hope mine fires up on the first turn.

So, how loud is that fuel pump, acceptable or too loud?

I was so stoked when she fired off, a ton of doubt lifted off my shoulders! I do have a few issues, but only minor. I had a **** load of fuel leaks at the NPT fittings on my billet rails. That one took some time! I have a leaking heater hose fitting at the pump, so I have to drain the damn block Other than that, everything seems great!

Duane,

When I first hit the key, I can hear the pump prime. It is by no means obnoxiously loud, but you know it is there. Keep in mind, I do have the back seat out of the car, and the carpet, etc. I won't really know how loud it is until I get exhaust put on the car...I can hear **** over the open headers

Default Fuel pump

Fuel pumps are normally heard when you first turn the key. Probably won't hear it run after that. Congratulations. Pics?

Did you get your radiator situation worked out yet? How did you run your steam vent, I am thinking of getting some of those plugs that allow a threaded hose to the radiator. Thanks,

I opted to tap into the top of the water pump with a 1/8" NPT fitting. Like I said before, I have not driven it, so I have not had it up to a constant operating temp, so I don't know for sure that it will work. I have some other coolant leaking issues to address before I can drive it.

Duane,

Give me a chance man, I will get some video

Congratulations! One of my favorite cars with one of my favorite motors! What could be better? We wanna hear about you driving it, or see it on video, even better! Good luck wrapping up the loose ends.

Pat
