Default SLP Dual/Dual Not Quiet...

Well I bought this SLP Dual/Dual froma member on here and I was so excited to put it on and expect a dramatic difference from just the catted y-pipe... but it is still the same. I don't have the tail pipes on they were cut of at the muffler, would that make a difference... I am thinking about putting moroso spiral flow in the I-pipe to quiet it down a little.

I am trying to get it as quiet as possible because I am going to get Electric cut outs for when I want it loud. Now I realize with the cam I have that I'm not going to be stock but I just want to get as close to it as possible.

Any help would greatly be appreciated!

What if you put on a pair of spiral flows, one before each tip?

To quiet it down you can put a bullet type muffler in your I-pipe. You will quiet it down, but will lose significant flow. But if you have cutouts you will most likely get your performance gain from those especially if you have one at each header collector.

I didn't get the LM Dual/Dual, the muffler is in the back, not in the I-Pipe, and has the 3" inlet and 2.5" outlets.

Yeah I going to try and put a 3" spiral flow in the I-Pipe I guess and if that isn't enough I'll buy 2 2.5" spiral flows after the muffler before the tips.

I am definitely going to put cut outs on right after the collectors so that I can get some performance back.

Thanks for your input guys, if anyone else has any other ideas let me know...

Thanks

Without the exit pipes you are probably going to have a lot of
undercar resonance to magnify the sound.

My CME has gotten louder over the years as I opened up what's
in front of it (!cats, headers, cam). But it's still pretty mellow
at low pedal.

Agreed!

Ok guys well I put the tail pipes on the muffler temporarily (I don't have a welder) and it quieted down 100x's more than it was. My problem was the one of the pipes from the muffler was aiming at the bottom of the car so it was booming the sound and making it loud.

Now onto the point of putting a bullet muffler in the I-Pipe... So spiral flows are bad and I should go with something else... I just want to quiet it down as much as possible without losing to much power, what do you guys think...

What about this magnaflow muffler from summit it says it is a straight through unrestricted flow muffler. The only reason I ask is because it is stainless steel and the rest of my exhaust is stainless steel. Also this one is cheaper than the dynomax stainless and the dynomax stainless is 6", way to big for ground clearance.

A dynomax bullet isnt too big. Most people use them without an issue. are you looking at the right bullet?

Well the steel ones aren't to big but the stainless steel ones a 6" unless someone can direct me to a Dynomax bullet that is 3" in/out, 4" in diameter, and is stainless steel.

The Dual/Dual isn't really that loud anymore now that I put the tailpipes on and directed the exhaust flow out the back rather than hitting the bottom of the car.

Compared to any other exhaust I could have chosen the Dual/Dual is probably the quietest but with my cam being so big and having it at 109 degrees it is a little loud.

I am not expecting it to be stock but I just want to get it as quiet as possible and still flow well. I have cut outs for when I want to scare the **** out of some stupid ricer.
