Default I am just nuts or did every Pro5.0 shifter install go like this?!?!?!!?

Just finished installing my Pro 5.0 shifter with ws6store short stick. So far the shifting is fine and feels great! BUT......

with everything put back together, everytime i go into reverse, the nuts holding the shortstick onto the shifter bangs up against the center console on the right side. It bangs up against it EVERY time and bad enough to slightly shift the whole center console. not MUCH but its very noticable and very annoying.

I asked a friend who has had 3 Pro 5.0 shifters in THREE different f-bodys and says it happened to him too.

Does everyone else have this problem with their Pro 5.0 ?!?!?!?

Try moving the shifter over to the driver's side a bit. A little movement at the base may go a long way at the stick.

Make sure the short stick is bolted onto the driver's side of the shifter. I haven't installed a pro 5.0 on my car, but I could swear the car's I've driven with a pro 5.0 haven't had any issues banging the console. My only complaint with them have been noise.

i had the same problem... i put the stick on the right side of the shifter, when its suppose to be on the left side of the shifter. Solved my problem w/ it hitting the console.

well i just cut away some of the plastic underneath the tab it was hitting against and that seemed to help a bit. very minimal banging now.

the **** and short stick once all back together on the pro 5.0 in the nuetral postion still seems to sit farther over to the passenger side of the boot vs. the **** location on the stock shifter in nuetral

same with everyone else?

i just got done w/ my swap and installed the ws6 store stick on an unknown shifter. only thing i had to do was get diff bolts so they werent sticking out so far when installed. w/ the bolts supplied it hit the inside of the console.

I'm not sure what shifter is in mine. I'm pretty sure it must be a Pro 5.0 but i cant tell.. It hits the console in 2nd and 4th sometimes, never for reverse or 6th for me though. With a straight short stick
