Default cutouts for the z06

I want to put cutouts on my z06. I saw a website that sold low profile cutouts made for corvettes but cant remember the site. Also could I just put one cutout on or should I put dual cutouts the balance the exhaust? Thanks
Also is the stock exhaust 2.5in. or 3in.?

I would say go with dual cutouts to balanced the sound.

I'm not sure. Check performance shops that are local to you. Also check LPE, LG, or any other Corvette performance shop. As a last resort you could call some muffler shops local to you.

DHM will not break. I ran a 3" cutout on my T/A for years and it had zero problems. They make a quality product and have excellent customer service. I would definitely get 2 because that would be dumb to have one bank with a lot less restriction than the other bank. And I'm about 99% sure the stock pipes are 2.5".

WELL, I installed DMH's on a CTSV LS2 about 5 months ago and they didn't seal up at all. My buddy took them off and they replaced then he told me he took them off 1 month later because they fell about.

I am not saying you won't have a bad pair or a good pair but if your going to open and close them everyday maybe more than once a day then they will break down the road. I had QTP on my last 4 vehicles and they all sucked and broke but such a cool idea so it didn't bother me fixing them all the time. Try the DMH's, people seem to have good luck with them.

I just ordered the low profile cutouts $399 shipped to my door. Im sure they are going to sound bad ***! I had a qtp on my 99 SS and that sounded mean with full bolt ons. I was thinking of welding them on where the tranny is (facing in/tranny) or just as the exhaust bends up to go over the rear end I could weld them on facing straight out the back. Any ideas? I appriciate it.

Jesus, $399? Ouch.

I run these on my car: http://www.mccordcg.com/mpp/mpp.htm

Much cheaper, and quality has been pretty solid. One of them froze up a while ago (had them on the car for over a year now) and I sent it back to them, they fixed it at no charge and shipped it back to me. Great service.

ALL cutouts will leak, break, or rattle at some point. Theyre like clutches for these cars. There is no tried and battle proven setup. You'll get tons of opinions, though.

And I dont know how you would run a single cutout, it would have to be duals, the exhaust is a dual setup all the way back.

Also, make sure that they arnt pointing towards anything important. If you run with them open alot, you are redirecting very hot air.

Be careful doing this! Make sure you have a turn down of sort because the cutouts will make that tranny very hot!!!
