Default gear or et street

alright i was gonna go to the track tonight but i took one good look at how much tread life is left on the f1 gs' and realized id be wasting time and money going to the track. while i was in school, i picked up motive 3.73's. i only work a few hours a day because people dont like to hire college students who can only work a few months out of the year. anyway, local car shop can install the gear for about 150, so i really cant pass that up. however, im thinking about getting some et street radials before getting the gear. I know that getting the gear is taking a big step because im only at 3.23 right now. on the other hand, that wouldnt solve my traction issue. so the other thought was to buy some mt et street radials. best run on goodyear tires was a 13.1xx with a 1.8xx 60ft @106.xx. i know if i get tires ill be consistantly running 12's. something id like to keep in my back pocket. i know i made a big story out of a lil question but i havent been in the car scene for a while cause of school so the only thing i can do to reacquaint myself is by reading and asking questions.

what do you guys think..3.73 gear or mt et street radials?

Gears will only make your traction problems worse. Get the tires.

thats a pretty good 60ft for stock gear and street tire imo.. if u can drive it, get a gear..

if ur car is a 6 spd, dont waste ur time with a 373, go 411.. if u dont wanna go with a gear, be very gentle on ur launches, esp. if ur car is a manual or a auto with big stall

if you want the tires to last get an extra set of wheels and only use them for track

alright guys so after a weekend of work. i made a lot more than i anticipated...i had the gear installed at a buddys shop AND i juust got the mt's today in the mail. im pumped. if i can go to the track wednesday night, ill be there...

since i got the gear installed...last weekend... ive put 250 miles on the car. the gears whine at all times but are most obvious at 30 and 60 mph. its not too bad, but its definitely noticeable. they are used so i figure i dont have to grandmother the car for too long. i ran the necessary heat cycles but there is still the same whine there was on day one. is it ever going to diminish?
