Default Need to replace front speakers

My front speakers have most likely crapped out, the mid-range is gone. Anyone get me and install new ones around 08061? I got a quote and the guy wanted $80 each and 3 hours install, anyone do better?

Sounds on the high side. Took me about 1.5 hrs to get both front speakers replaced doing it for my first time. Wasn't all that bad really if you want to attempt it.

I realize this doesn't help much but if anything, the labor time sounds high just for replacing a couple speakers. Any re-wiring or other things being installed?

No, I was just checkin on here cuz the dude sounded like he was trying to get over on me. For the most part the hardest part is taking the door panel off I mean honestly it cant take to disconnnect and reconnect some wires.

And for the site I might just do it myself at this point for 1/3 less.

Shop around for the speakers, GMpartsdirect, eBay etc., should be about $60. Changing them is easy, don't pay someone to do it, it's not hard. Do some searching for a writeup on removing the door panel. You will be glad you did it yourself.

Ya I've removed the panels before when I had to replace the window motor on my drivers side which was the worst.

I just bought 4 aftermarket speakers with a headunit..If you dont want to do that, just get 2 oem ones from gmpartswarehouse.com and do it yourself. Should be no more than 1.5-2 hrs labor for both if you must go somewhere..

If they know what they are doing it should take less than an hour. I could change both door speakers in my camaro in like 30 mins, but that is because I did it about 100 times.

I put Infinity Kappa 62.7i in my bonneville. They are 2ohm rated and better than stock. I think the same size fit's in your car. You can buy em' on Amazon or something.
