Default building a 1300-1500hp turbo LSx ?'s

Hey guys I'm gonna be coming up on some cash in the next few months and I want to start researching my next project. I might even pick up a roller to do it with but if not I'll build it on a stand and put it in my 95 that is already setup chassiswise to run 8.50...

Here's my question for you FI guru's.... Starting with a bare LSx block what combo of cubic inches and parts would make the best all around turbo setup to make between 1300-1600hp to reliably run deep in the 8's??

I was thinking a single 91mm-94mm turbo to keep the amount of piping required down to a minimum. Something along the lines of what Wormboy used to run..... But i'm also open to the idea of big twins as well....

And lastly what cubic inch range should I be looking at for a fast spooling nasty 10% street, 90% strip car? I was thinking somewhere in the 370-390 range but again i'm clueless when it comes to turbo stuff....

So if you had about 12-15 grand to build a motor what would you put together. I don't know if i could get the turbo and intercooler stuff for under that 15 large but I would hope I could. If not i'd just put the motor together with it and buy the intercooler/turbo seperately... thanks guys...

Alot of different options outhere for sure. Just make sure you keep it simple. Nothing out of the ordinary has to be done to make that kind of power.
All my motor stuff is out of the box bolt on. Just save some cash for when its completed to make repairs.
I would go with 370-377ci. with a big single. Get a good fuel system also.

408 with a 106. You can make that power with smaller cubes and smaller turbo, but if youre going to spend the cash, Id just go ahead and go bigger.

Single 94mm will easily get you those times and all you need is a 370ci engine, or maybe something in the 390ci range as well for a little quicker spool.

My fuel system right now consists of a Nasty sumped tank, Weldon 600A (which will be swapped out soon for a 2345 Weldon) twin fuel labs filters, 10AN supply line up to the y-block, then split to two 8AN lines to the rails. 6AN return back to the tank with a fuellabs regulator. I'll be dumping my current injectors for 160lb/hr units in a few months.... So I THINK i'll be good there and just be able to swap everything over....

So i'm getting that somewhere between 390 ci and 408 ci with a 94-106mm single would be the deal huh???

What are the bore and stroke combos using an LSx block to reach both of these displacement #'s????? I want to start pricing parts.

I'm guessing some diamond pistons, lunati crank, and oliver rods would be fine??? Also would I need 6 bolt heads????

appreciate it guys......

how much you think this will all cost???? Keep in mind I already have FAST XFI standalone, fuel system is done, car has an ATI TH400 with all the bells and whistles and the entire suspension is done as well as safety as well...

All I need is the motor, motor plate, turbo's, intercooler, and piping has to be fabricated.... Oh and the blowoffs and wastegates as well....

I'm thinking what like 15-18K?????

Looks like the boost is turned down. A 94mm is a solid 4.9-5.0 turbo@140+ if the track is working. Also that video says 98mm....hmm. Either way their is more left in that setup.

What do you need a motor plate for?
My current setup is an LT1 nitrous motor... I went 10.60 on the motor and i'm getting ready to spray the hell out of it and shoot for 8.90's.... but an LS based turbo deal is in my future. My k-member has LT1 motor mounts... Price to buy a new k-mbr with LS1 mounts? like 500 bucks..... cut off the current mounts and use a motor plate.... like 150-200 bucks....

I could swap k-members but it would be less expensive to just motor plate it and keep my current LT style k-member....

You are correct. They just got done with the new motor and its a 434ci. LSX Block with ETP 6 bolt heads. They are currently working on some tuning for the new motor. 94 or 98, I can't tell, they are all huge!
