Lubing Urethane Bushings...?
Hey guys.. I'm gonna sound EXTREMELY stupid asking this..
But I bought my car with urethane bushings. They've squeaked ever since. You kinda lose your cool when your rolling past some chicks and all you hear is.. *SQUEAKY SQUEAK* Now i'm not a suspension guy, so where are these bushings, and is there anything special I have to do to grease them up? I know I need specific urethane grease correct?

1. you'll have to look for them underneath the car. If they're there, they'll usually be red, black, yellow, blue, purple, grey, or any colour which ever the manufacturer chose. They're usually in these places
Rear lower control arms
Panhard Bar
Front upper control arms
front lower control arms
torque arm mount
front swaybar body mount bushings
rear swaybar body mount bushings
Those are some of the places where poly bushes could've been used to replace stock rubber, but it will largely depend on where the previous owner(s) installed them since they're aftermarket parts.
2. In those locations, either look for a zerk fitting and/or maybe some sort of grease and dirt where the lubrication from the bushing has pushed out. If there is a zerk fitting, then all that needs to be done is to use a grease gun to lubricate the bushing. Those bushing housings that don't have zerk fittings may require some sort of disassembly in order to re-lubricate between the inner steel sleeve and bushing.
A good type of grease to use would be some sort of synthetic wheel bearing grease, or at least some sort of grease that is non-water soluble.

For a poly bushing you want to use a full synthetic grease only (it's usually indicated on the tube) a petroleum based grease degrades the bushing.
For rod ends a good graphite lubricant is what I have found to work best..
