Default not hitting 100% TPS at WOT...big deal?

guys...my TPS will not get to 100% no matter what. I even took the sensor off and manually rotated it...no dice. All I can get is 99.6%. Am I missing out on anything by not hitting 100%? Am I getting the WOT timing and fuel curves? I have a bolt-on M6 Z28.

Thanks

personaly I'd go to napa auto parts and buy a new one..... when fool with it... buy a new one and set it up properly...

if the TPS isn't working properly at this point do you think its going to do anything but get worse or quit qorking when your driving down the road.

sounds like you may need to do the bump stop mod. I'd say it's a minimal gain but any gain is good.

Well, that's the thing...I originally started grinding on the bumpstop to try to get 100%. After a lot of grinding, I decided to pull the sensor off. No amount of grinding would get me past 99.6%. Luckily, the TB blade doesn't look to be too far from 90* at WOT.

What's the deal with 99.6%? Everything is working properly other than that. There have been no trouble codes or problems driving.

did you take the voltage to see where it's at?

I think we may be entering the realm of insanity at this point!

99.6% vs 100% can't possibly make a difference. The important thing is getting the throttle blade fully open (90 degrees) If that looks good I would not even give it a second thought.

Tommy

PS The car will go into WOT mode before 99.6% Don't worry!

99.6% is fine. That is 4.5mv which is WOT. If you grind the bumpstop, you probably will open it too much and cause a hard SES light. anything past 4.7mv will cause the light to go on.

What are you 'measuring' with? I noticed on an old version of Autotap, I'd never go beyond 99%. With the newer version it says 100% though. Voltage was 4.6.

TaTommy and BLKTA are right:

Throttle position at idle will usually indicate slightly greater than 0% and throttle position at wide open throttle will usually indicate slightly less than 100%.

I'm using autotap version 2.X(?).

heheheh I guess I'm just trippin'. I just wanted to check on this. I thought WOT might only be at 100%.

Guys, I appreciate your chiming in. Perhaps this will help someone out in a future search.

Technically there is one concern if you have an automatic trans there is a difference 99.6 and 100% tps in trannie shift pts but other than that the only reason I have seen less than 100% is pressure on the throttle. but no difference in power, been on the dyno with many many many cars and have check this very scenario.
