Talking Long Tubes Or Mid Lengths

Okay i have Pacesetter Mid Lengths on my car in Sig with current HP rating. I was wondering would it be worth it to switch to some Long Tubes? and how much of a power gain would i get if i go with long tubes? thanks in advance!!

This is always a debate, please add them and go to the same dyno and tell
us your gains. I run short tubes myself.

I would be interested myself. Header primary length is the least important thing with horsepower gain.

Go with the long tubes especially if you're just looking for gains. But then again you live in CA so I don't know how strict your emissions are in your area.

I bet you would see minimal gains for the cost to switch. We have done numerous cars with mid-lengths and still seen good HP results.
I do prefer LT's and run them on my own car, but my point is I do not think it would be worth the money to switch now unless doing a killer H/C package or something.

shoot... my 5.0 Mustang with stock short, H/C/I & blower makes over 500 rwhp with unequal shorties.

I have a set of slp mids and y-pipe sitting in my garage. Ive been debating if I should put them on or just wait untill I pick up some long tubes.

Sell your mids, and buy a pair of used long tubes to save your money

LT's for the win, but as stated above with your mods, expect to see minimal gains. If you intend to mod further, such as heads, cam, blower, nitrous, they would be a good investment!

You get HP gains with both noob.

Mids vs LT's isn't much difference gain wise..maybe 10 hp difference with LT'S

Mids will help you retain your end torque where if you go w/ LT's you will lose out on some low end torque but you will notice more HP up top at higher RPM's

No low end torque is lost, only mid range

Buddy has same set up as me mod for mod, he has LT's and I have mids..I have more torque and he has more hp. Talk with Lloyd Elliott if you want. Had this discussion with him a few months back and he will tell you the same.

Never had a excuse..and you can't take one dyno sheet from one car and expect it to hold true to all my friend

Same thing holds true with cars just because one car has the same mods as another is not going to put down the same power shorties or not.

Very true...guess we can go on thinking what we choose to think then. As seen on different dyno results mids seem to hold onto lower end torque then LT's do, but not in every case. Coming from someone that has delt with and done a lot of work on our cars I'm leaning on L.E. info over yourself and from my experience driving both set ups
