Default My SS locks on its own!!!???

ok well heres the deal. im in the Army and i only come home like once or twice a year to drive my 2001 SS. so i got home the other day and i drove my car down to my fathers shop so i could do some work on it (Strano springs, center caps for my C6 Z06 wheels, adjustable panhard bar, tail lights, head lights, etc) so i pulled it into my dads shop (luckily i had the windows down) tossed the keys in the center cup holder behind the gear shifter hopped out and closed the door, as i walked away me and my brother were talking and the car beeped twice and locked its self, Any ideas??? it did it again later when i pulled up to my house and got out. i put the keys in my pocket and walked away and once again did it. my dad thinks its the key FOB im have no idea.

I'd have to look it up, but sounds like "passive arming" is enabled. Mine still has the factory settings.

A copy of the owner's manual alarm programming instructions was posted here. Check that your "Theft Deterrent Arming Method" isn't set to mode 4 - passive arming.

Nice. I was wondering how I could shut off the horn when armed. I thought its kind of rude when coming home at 3AM

Hmmm...let me use my amazing powers of deduction on this one...though it still may take some time.

Oh! Maybe the first owner set it like that?
