not originally, but was best to change it now, cause it apparently took a hit when the fuse blew and sent a pretty high charge to it cause the termials were burnt and some of the plastic connector melted to it

Mine went out one time going down the Highway.. the hot wire off of the Battery coming in on one of the Terminals of the Switch got loose and heated up. It started melting through the blue plastic and eventually got to a piece of steel on the Column and Grounded out. The Car wend dead instantly cause it blew the Fuseable Link coming off of the Battery under the Hood.
It wasn't hard to trace..I was on my way to my GF's house and had to leave the Car on the side of the Highway for a night..I got a friend to give me a lift back to my house when it happened so I could get my Truck and go out with her. I got off of work the next day for a little bit to go get it towed.

$75 later(tow), $35 for a new Ignition Switch, $5 for the Blue Connector I clipped off of a Camaro at the Junk Yard, and a $3 10ga Inline Fuse it was Fixed..

I re-pinned what I could, pretty much every wire. I butt connected the main power wire cause that one didn't come out..it was melted in there. I had to cut it.

Paperclip.. there is a little tab on the metal piece that locks into the Connector, once you get that to depress, it will slide right out.

It's not that bad.. I did it a bunch when I built the Harness to swap in the 402 Stroker. I'm still doing it every now and then..
