Default Anybody Raced a 300c SRT-8 or charger?

What's up guys i have a 95 impala ss LT1 with 101,000 miles, Quad 1 long tubes, highflow cats, Hooker Catback exaust. 30lb ford fuel injectors, Walbro 255lp fuel pump, 373 gears, eaton posi, moser axles, 306 cam, stock bottom end. ported intake for 58mm, 58 mm eldelbrock throttle body, K&N CAI, B&M shift kit, Edge 3000 stall, A tune from Brian Herter at PCM for less. Sphon sway bars, UMI upper and lower control arms, Vogtland springs, Bilstein shocks. I was at home on leave and alot of guys was talking about this guy was just big ****. I know it would probably not be a big deal for you F body guys, but i just wanted to know how my B body would do, i know that they are like 425hp from the start. And what is the best way to challenge him from a roll or a Dig? Thanks. oh and P.S hopefully a 02 camaro ss is in my future, 2 ss's are always better than 1

Honestly... I think it would still beat you pretty bad. But just race one and find out.

definately try him from dig, i'm assuming you have a set of DRs? from a dig you have a very good chance to holeshot him. not sure what kind of power you're making, because i'm not too familiar with the LT1 but you're probably making a little less than him assuming he's stock. in a roll race with two automatic cars the better power to weight ratio will usually win. good luck and if you're not racing for money it's all for fun anyways.

by the way, you said you're on leave. which branch of the military are you in?

I have a 300C SRT8 with a Diablo/Cai and it would just inch away from my bolt on 02 SS. You would need to run a 13 flat @109-110 to beat a stock one and I would say you would have to run near a 12.50-12.60 @ 110-113 to beat one similar to mine.

Thanks alot for the reply's I'll get the specs on that cam when i get off of work, it's a pretty healthy cam. But no i'm on BF goodrench tires. But maybe a dig would be best, and i know that the weight is not too much of a difference. Damn I see that they do move and make good power.

I have an 07' SRT-8 300C.. 13.3@107 with a 2.2 60'.. I think the SRT-8 would probably win. But your best bet is to run from a dig.

I walk my friends 98' Z28 with full exhaust everytime on the street. Never ran him at the track.

Good luck.

You serriously need to pick up the Diablo tuner and an AFE cai. I just removed it all for a trip to the dealer and dear Lord it feels so much slower now. You cant imagine how well it upshifts @ WOT with the Diablo. No hesitation and just a big chirp of the tires, FYI.

The only 300c SRT8 I've run was at the track. We knew I was lined up next to him in the staging lanes and my brother was making fun of me going "If you lose to this thing you're never gonna hear the end of it", basically because it was a four door. Well, turns out it was blown with supporting mods and trapped like 121 (looked stock). Not only did he hand me my ***, but also killed my brother later that day. Now HE never hears the end of it.
