Wow, how long did that motor last you?

I'm still learning LTx stuff, so I'm in for good tech advice.

Still doing well with a stock starter on 12.3 cr. No problems with a good ground and a fresh battery. I broke a few starters a while back. I mean I BROKE them. Hit the switch and after about 1/2 a rev the starter nose cone would go "clang" on the driveway. Turned out the opti cap was cross firing and really screwing things up. No problems after that (till the opti itself took a dump on the trailer at the LTx Nationals).

Higher quench, slightly less compression, E85 (maybe), and more juice.

only use 1 ounce of jetA in a tank. my dad used to use it in his jeep, and it never had clogged injectors

Jet A is not gonna help any. Its really just a high grade kerosine.

Be careful. Av gas is full of additives. Also, even the low lead stuff has WAY to much lead for O2 sensors and cats. 21 years in aviation. FWIW

Reverse flow cooling means our heads are cooled first, allowing LT1s to run a lot higher compression then standard engines without detonation.

My rebuild will be shooting for 12.5:1, and my stock shortblock ran close to 11.1:1 on pump gas.

The tune makes a world of difference as well.
