Default Upper Ball Joint replacement

Does anyone know if there is an install guide to replace the upper ball joint on an 02 TA? Is this something thats easily done in a garage with standard tools?
Thanks

I just did this actually. Basically the drill ended up working best for me. I ground a flat spot on the top so I could drill it out easier. Just make sure you slowly move up on drill sizes and you should be set. Grinding them off will take forever and I don't see a chisel making quick work either. After that just bolt the new one in and your good. You will want to remove the upper A-arm to do all of this though and a drill press makes the job a ton easier.

or just take off your upper A-arm and bring it to a local shop. don't know your people, but my people would get it done for $10 or a couple beers.

hey i rebuilt my whole front end and it wasnt too bad. the upper balljoints shouldnt take long to replace. i used a little air chisel to break the rivets but you could drill them out as well as grind down the rivet heads.

I can absolutly see an air chisel taking it out pretty well. I'd still drill though since to me it's easier to control than an air chisel. Odds are this guy already finished at this point though

Thats what I used on my step mom's S-10 blazer, just sharpen a good chisel and use the air chisel, takes them right off.

I was just looking back at this thread and thinking...Yes, a drill will do the job, but it's bulky to get in the fenderwell with. A chisel, especially an air chisel, will have the rivet heads of with a lot less contortions.

I removed my whole shock assembly so it was really easy for me to just remove the upper arm and drill it out in the press. If you are trying to do it while its on the car then the chisel is probably the best option.
