Exclamation Throwing Codes!!

Car threw a P0332 code...scanner said the follwing:

Knock Sensor 2
Circuit Low Input
(Bank 2)

I basically just have full exhaust and intake with some suspension stuff on my 2000 Z28 M6...just want to know what I have to do to get this taken care of. I need a tune don't i?

You have to remove your intake mani and clean/inspect/replace the knock sensors and knock sensor wire harness.

x2

On the up-side, since that sensor probably was failing for a while, you're likely to pick up a few degrees of timing by replacing it.

Follow this for the removal of the intake manifold:

http://www.ls1howto.com/index.php?article=5

Once it's off, simply remove and replace the knock sensors. Use two screw drivers or a pair of pliers to gently squeeze on the wide ends of the gray connectors on the knock sensors. IIRC it should be a 7/8 socket to unscrew them. Check the wiring thoroughly.

Here's a picture:

Good luck with it.

Hit me up when you're back in town. Are you bringing the Hummer engine with you?

I'm pretty sure it was a 6 cyl, it would still be fun to put that in a buggy.

You don't need one, the intake manifold is torqued to 89 in.lbs ~ 7 ft.lbs ~ hand tight. It doesn't take much to get the plastic gaskets to seal.

From what I know, they sense vibrations in the motor (knocking) and retard timing to compensate.
