Default TEA is top notch!

just rolled in to memphis after going to Total Engine Airflow to get some dyno tuning on the 421 iron block in my 99 6-speed vette. The motor set up is as follows:
4.030 iron block
lunati 4/125 crank
6.125 billet rods
diamond custom pistons/rings
ARE ported oil pump
comp 242/242 610/610 at 113 cam
yella terra 1.7 shaft rockers
stock ls6 intake
stainless works headers and custon mid pipe section
ghl rear section exhaust
spec stage 3 clutch setup with alum flywheel
transmission specialist/rodney/crashed 94 3.90 rear gears
veraram induction with race filter
shaner ported BBk 80mm throttle body
and last but not least, TEA 6.0L stage 3 Judson Massengill signature series heads with 2.08/1.6 valves<custom>
We dyno'ed today at 501rwhp and over 480rwtq. car pulled like a mac to 7000rpms. I cant say enough to the customer service, quality of products, and assistance provided by any of the above mentioned vendors, and especially the help at TEA. Brian , Brent and the entire staff are a pleasure to work with and as for the results, we drove the car from memphis to bowling green and back, avg. over 30mpg, and has over 500 horses at thye wheels. funny thing is that there are others running this like cam etc with big cubes that aren't making the power, the big difference is in the HEADS!!! all i can say is they get my vote for service, price, and performance. also want to thank tom garland aka nevernuf for helping in initial computer setup and lots of help along the way. Thanks to all and look for a nassau blue vette from memphis coming soon to a track near you! joe

Yeah I've heard TEA is working with the boys down at SAM, Judson and Casey. I think that we will see some awesome stuff from them as time goes on!

500rwhp is very impressive for a driveable motor like that!

Very nice. 500 to the wheels for a real street car is awsome. Congrats on your setup.

nice power, can you post the graph. good to see tea stg3 heads can perform like you say "the big differencs is in the heads" we all know about the stg2's
I have one question, my friend in another state was telling me he called tea for some heads for his vette. They told him they wanted to get in big with the corvette community and was going to give him an outstanding deal on the heads and get him free dynoing on one of there buddies dyno just for him to talk up and push there product, is this true with you to. Is this how tea gets all there chearleaders. Just asking, it sounds like it with your post
anyway, if the stg3 heads are consistant and run good, of course s.A.M. probably ported them and tea copied the port to cnc, maybe they are the answer for me. maybe I can get a good deal on these heads, we all know I have a big mouth, I will push these to all my vette friends and guys on the vette sites

Congradulations on the 500rwhp in the Vette! Sounds like a killer combonation of performance and streetability.

Sounds like TEA is back on track working with SAM. This should be an outstanding team. The TEA 6.0's have always shown excellent results to the best of knowledge. Sounds like the TEA 6.0 have just gotten better with Judson Massengill/SAM's involvement.

I think lot's of folks would want a Judson spec'd head, I know I would if TEA can bring SAM quality heads and performance to the market place at great price, all I can say is Brian might just be one of the sharpest sponsors on the board.

Maybe with a little luck someone from TEA & SAM will comment on these new 6.0's

I really don't know what your problem is. Most of the people on this board give props to whomever gets good results from a vendor products. Many people have some loyalty to vendors that have provided good service to them in the past. That's the way its supposed to be, good service = future purchases.

As to knowing about the Stage 2 heads, I do. See sig. 3525-3550 race weight. What does your car run, by the way. You must be one of those people that think they can make themselves, or someone else, look better by jamming others. Give it a rest dude.

man you havent posted in one TEA post without having some smart remark about them Even if TEA did that, im sure every other head company out there has done the same. Thats how you sell parts. Its called business Once you get a good set out there thats proven and does well it sells

Looks like to me TEA as trying to help your friend out and you have done nothing but slap them back in there face

If you dont like TEA, then stop replying to there posts. If you think TEA sucks, come on down to our Oct 4th shootout. It will be a few TEA cars there.. you can line your vette up with them. Hell ill even run you on my first pass ever down the track with these heads

So you finally got heads huh? Cool man TEA is nothing but top notch. Name a company that has a $50K (might be more) digitizer/CNC machine setup in their same shop that they do head work in for our LS1s.........hmmmmm well????

Brian and Brent know their stuff. I went up there and they showed me some of their software tools they used and I was really impressed. They have the best bang for the buck ($2500 for stage 1.5 heads/cam/tuning package was what my friend was quoted for his car) and they know their stuff.
If I didn't have my heads done at the same shop that was doing my engine block assembly, I would have taken them to TEA. I will be ordering some 6L heads for my turbo setup soon from them, no doubt.

I am working on getting the graph scanned and I will post as soon as I get it done. All the work on these 6.0L heads is done here in house, Judson over at sam's helped us out with the design. Joe's car is down right wicked, you can drive it like a stock car, but when you hit the throttle HOLY CRAP

as for your friend actually getting a top notch product, along with a FAIR price in relation to some of the others offered, and unparalled service during and after the sale, i think this is the standard at TEA. I don't work for them, am not related or distant cousins to any of them, and simply they were one of about 6 different people i picked up the phone and made a call to when i was researching out project "backwoods". Our goal was simple: to build a motor in our garage that we could drive to california in, with the air on, no loss of any ammenities such as stereo, cruise, etc, i'm talking fully equipped 99 corvette, and run a high 10 secong 1/4 mile. i called several vendors, many of which were helpful and some of hich i even purchased parts from during and throughout the buildup. ARE, Thunder racing, Xtreme motorsports, all got a piece of the credit card at one point. when i put all the info together, i simply made my decision based on what i was told, shown, promised and now delivered in a head combination for my specific setup. All i can say as to your friends ability to receive the same type of product and service, proof is in the pudding! pick up the phone and order today. every day that you procrastinate is another day that you were slower than the competition!!! enough said, joe.

Sorry for the confusion on the heads, it is officially called the Judson Massengill Signature Series 6.0 Liter Stage III head. The intake port, valve and valve job all came from SAM. We had an exhuast we were already happy with, it went 280 cfm at .600" WITH A PIPE. So we used their intake and our exhaust, but the intake port is obviously the key. This head retails for $2400 plus $400 core charge and has every component in it changed, bronze guides, new seats, 5/16" stem racing valves, super 7 or 10 degree titanium retainers, your choice of springs, cups, seals, CNC ported, valve job, hand blending of the valve job, milled to desired chamber size, flowed, final cleaning and professionl assembly. We obviously do all work in house, but you may be able to buy the heads direct from S.A.M. is Judson feels like messing with it. Hope this helps and we will update our web site shortly.

Thanks to all
Brian Tooley
