Default Tint plus dot matrix??

Hi,
So I've finally decided to get the windows tinted, and after searching on here about the dot matrix, decided to spray paint the dots.

Well the matrix turned out awsome, I used 'Plasti coat' black spray paint.

1. When they do the tint, should I ask them to tint upto the paint, or just lip slightly over the paint?

2. How easy do the front windows damage the tint with the up & down motion?

Thanks for the advise.

Great, Yes, I too have seen plenty of bubbled tints around the heavy matrix area.

How easy do the front windows damage the tint with the up & down motion?

The front tint doesn't get damaged unless the fabric pads come off inside the door.

Just don't roll your windows down for a few days. After that it should be fine unless you cut it or something.

I had my dot matrix tinted over. No bubbles

Thanks for the info, I will get the fronts done too

I guess my friend has had the pads come off his, as they are scratched bad. I will let him know, thanks.

Damn that is horrible! My tint guy did an amazing job and you can only see maybe the top 1-2 rows and you have to really look at it in the direct sunlight.

it has cured up a lot. I took this picture the day it got tinted. But it still makes me want to somehow get it perfect. Would cutting the tint off to the bottom of the matrix and then adding black vinyl work?

I would imagine. That's what I plan to do. Tint guy said an extra 30 bucks to vinyl the matrix first.

I dont know how good vinyl looks, but if I was you, I'd cut it off, and spray it black.
I am amazed how good it looks. ' SS LS1 ' has some pics on here of his matrix painted. Check them out, as I'm sure you'll agree when you see them, it looks flawless, and it's easy to do!

yea i have the same issue and looks just like the pics you posted, they did use black vinyl on the outside of the car(looked ok for me,was done good) but the sun has taken its toll on it and needs to come off. Looking into painting it like the rest of you guys... glad to hear paint works.

Did you have the guy tint over the painted section or just up to it?
