Thumbs up Just Raced modded 08 GSXR 600 with My Friend's C6 ZO6

A friend of mine just bought 07 C6 ZO6 (From another friend)

He's still learning to drive the car since he is always drove Auto cars

the car have under 3k miles and have a couple of mods
Kooks 1.7/8 Headers off road X-pipe
Corsa Catback
K&N Intake
Tuned

Made a crappy 462rwhp Dont know why.

You can see the dyno of it and races against new GTR R35 Here
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/0...R35_183134.htm

So last night some bike guys called the Z06 owner for a race told him they have 04 Busa or something and they wanted to race from 80-180mph

But the Busa guy couldnt make it so they brought 08 Suzuki GSXR 600
With (from what I remember) Headers/exhaust/power commander/short shifter or quick shifter somethings like that/ lowered/ and DRIVER mod weigh 145lbs

We agreed to race from 55-170mph

1st race I'm in 2nd he's in 1st

3 honks I hit it 1st he didnt hear the honks I was ahead till 100mph shifted to 3rd and the bike pulled me by 2 cars till 120mph after that BYE BYE
I started pulling back very hard we were head to head by 130mph when I pulled bu 2 cars on him he hit the brakes.

2nd race same thing but this time he jumped me so he was ahead till 135mph after that I stared pulling back and left off at top 4th I was ahead by 4-5 cars shifted to 5th and slowed down my speed was 180mph
he let off at 165mph.

Great races and C6 ZO6 is freakin fun to drive but I gotta say its very diffrent from my 01 C5 ZO6 when I drive my car I can powershift like hell when I drove the 07 ZO6 I felt when I shift faster but not powershift it better.

I remember reading about this in Ranger's posts.

Sorry guys no vid since I didnt have a passenger but maybe I'll get some vids from the outside
Oh damn those new 600 are freakin fast.

Peace.

Sick races. Good kill. I just raced my 05 CBR600RR with my car and ended up at a tie from 40-130 (me pulling at that point). Any higher and the bike would've been dusted. I'm not sure about all 600s or how helpful mods are, but mine starts to crawl once it hits 145 or so.

Bikes are fast and hard to beat in any car...600cc bikes can be touched but the 900cc and 1000cc crotch rockets you might as well forget about it... I raced a CBR1000 and got used like a two dollar *****.....

Running with a 600 is respectable, running with a 1000 is seriously impressive. there are cars (ones on here) that can do it, but it's not easy.

a new stock 600 is easy high 10s, mid 10s with mods. There is a popular (very good) bike racer that went high 9s on a STOCK r6 with only a -1 front sprocket and lowered. Not your typical rider, but very fast regardless.

1000s are low 10s out of the box with a decent rider.

The thing about a bike is, they can run 9s or 10s on the street just as easy as they can on the track. A 10 second car on the track is usually a lot slower on the street due to traction.

Good runs and exactly what I would expect racing a 600...flying past them once you're well into triple digits. Those mods are probably only worth maybe 15-20 HP max on the 600 but still a nice little gain. The fact that you can hang with a brand new 600 from a low speed is very impressive IMO. I'm used to riding liter bikes which I know would be a drastically different outcome but regradless nice runs.

i know i have thousands invested in my Yamaha R1/M1 replica...last summer i dominated a c6 zo6 with lite mods...hell there hasnt been any 1000cc bikes that have been able to touch it really. when in street mode/corner carvers mode the bike only does like a 10.6 1/4 mile but crosses the line at 147mph which is on average 10mph faster than anyone else running mid tens. The problem was that i cant keep the front down for the first 2 gears, but as soon as its down...watch out. When i put 6" swingarm extensions and strap the front end down it pulls mid to low 9s at 150ish...

my i have it geared to only top out at 160-170 area

its a monster for roll on races up to my top speed

if you go to the track you see most 600 riders pulling low 11s. and most 1000 riders in the mid 10s. like i said above, my bike modded to hell and setup at stock height only pulls mid 10s but thats cause i am struggleing with the front end and vant really give it any throttle...once the bike is set up for drag racing tho my times improve drastically

Nice kill. I pulled away from a Gixxer 750 a few weeks ago. He slowly pulled on me in 4th but when we both shifted to 5th I pulled away from him. I started to pull away at about 150 mph. At 170 mph, he was well behind me. The guy admitted to me afterward that I pulled away from him when we shifted to 5th. Great run.

My bored and jetted 1300cc GSXR stetch drag bike ran a flat 9 once... Scary fast, hold on for dear life and try and shift fast enough to keep up with the racing rpms between gears... Throttle control in the first two gears was a must or else you die... I am so lucky I sold that rocket when I did, as that bike was flat out dangerous at times.. Especially, the one time I got the handle bars slapping effect going back and forth under full throttle, oh **** that was crazy scary..

I run 10.7s extremely consistently in the heat @ 2500-3000 DA. I haven't taken it since it's cooled down, but I imagine it would be a bit faster. With some decent elevation/DA, I'd say low 10s should be pretty easy. I'm far from an expert racer, and the bike is stock height.

I've done 10.7s on my buddies 2003 R6 also, but his is lowered and helps with the launching.

Another friend runs 11.0s on his brand new bone stock R6s.

What's sad is, I see 1000s losing 90% of the time to 600s on the track. A stock height 1000 really is pointless on the track. Two guys on brand new R1s were there running mid/high 11s last weekend. Unless you lower or stretch one, it's hard to get a good clean pass. I do have a friend that has gone 10.5s on his 00 gsxr1000 stock, and another that has gone 10.4s on his 06 gsxr1000 stock.. but that is pretty rare.

Regardless, if you can keep up with a new 600 with a good rider from 0-120, you have a DAMN FAST car. If you can keep up with a new 1000 with a good rider.. your **** is way too fast.

And sorry guys, but no stock C6Z is going to beat a bike with a good rider. It takes a 10 second car to keep up with any new 600/1000, unless you go 140+. And like I said, the best thing about a bike is you can run identical times on the track and street (no spinning, etc.) You can't say that for many cars.

Anyways, op, good kill.

The best thing about my car is that I can run just as comfortably whether it's 20 or 100 degrees outside.

Hahah it's the truth, that's why I have a car also

I bought the bike in Feb and test drove it on a 20* day with only pants, leather jacket, and helmet . And yes, I probably put over 1000 miles on it during winter time, when it was still 40* out. Nothing like the excitement of a new bike
