Expect $7,000 when all done, in 4XX Range HP wise....gotta think about other things like tune, tranny and traction too.

Wasn't the black turbo GXP making 450 or so on the initial tune/install of the cartuning turbo kit? Figure a very conservative 15% drivetrain loss through the automatic thats about 530 hp at the crank. His last dyno was just a hair over 500 whp, so 500/.85 =....you get the idea.

You'd need to spend a good amount beefing up the transmission though. $10k shouldn't be too off when all expenses are said and done.

I don't personally think it's worth it. For the money you're going to be putting in to it, you could buy a used LS1 Trans Am or Camaro, or an older C5, when it's all said and done. The W-Body was not meant to be a performance oriented vehicle. It's meant as a large coupe or sedan, geared more towards a comfy ride and good looks than it is for speed. I personally only bought my MC SS because it's the only V8 Coupe Chevrolet makes this side of the pond, and I didn't want a Mustang.

All said and done, this platform isn't worth the money you're going to spend. Get an LS1 and drop the same 3-4k in it and make 400-odd rwhp, instead of 7k to get the same on a FWD platform.

umm since the new camaro is rwd it will be cheap to get 400-500 hp compared to the w-body's even starting out with the lesser performing v8 choice.

Another 50 HP from your car? You can try a intake, free flowing exhaust, and a dyno tune with HP tuners. That should be anywhere from 20-30hp at the crank I'd guess. If you want more, from there you'd have to change the camshaft.

When they were talking about a Camaro they meant a 1998-2002 model which you could get relatively cheap.

Nothing will void the warranty unless it does damage to the car. Even then, none of those things will void it when your radio stops working (unless of course you short it out when working on the battery

That being said, a tune on an '08 is detectable (from what I have read anyway) by GM with a Tech 2. Rockers...

DP should be fine as long as you don't weld it on.

Incidentally, I doubt you are pulling in 20 extra hp from those 2 mods without a tune. Also, that would be crank HP, not wheel.

I almost have enough money for a pre built transmission online with every aftermarket part i can afford. I'm planning on having the hardest shift possible. As far as a comment the car wasn't made for this performance ?? what car really is ? unless you go spend 80k on something. I've seen the poostangs and there suspention dosn't look any stronger then ours. As far as handling you can tailor the handling to your needs as theres plenty of aftermarket "suspention wise" for w-bodys. I saw a challenger which i was going to buy and they look like a tad smaller challenger. They look like **** you can always make a car faster but i can't live with its ugly chargerness. I might wait to see the camaro to see if i like it any better but i'm not going to get my hopes up untill i see one infront of me. Either way i like my car and its well worth 10 grand to make it faster then 95% of the cars out there.

Yea, it's all about being different. Anyone can go get a cheap f-body and make it fast(er), but there's plenty out there. Naturally they're more mod friendly and RWD and an available M6 is going to be more fun. However no ones going to be expecting a 500whp W-body when you pull up next to them. If you like the car and want it to be fast, then it doesn't matter if someone else thinks it's worth it or not. If everyone did the same thing we'd all be driving the same cars.

Cool, thanks the DP with a highflow cat will it set the check engine light? and whats the HP gain compared to the stock DP and cat......and I'm guessing the rockers are easy to change.

The rockers are easy - if you know what you are doing and have the tools/time/patience to do it.

Honestly, you will not see much - if any - HP gains with the mods without a tune. There is a thread somewhere in this section about tuning the newer LS4s and the warranty.

When I just had MF exhaust and a CAI, I was running REALLY rich without a tune. Just a heads up.

Think about what you want the car for before you do a whole bunch to it first though. Just some friendly advice.
