GM Ceramics on Impala SS?

GM Ceramics on Impala SS?
I know a lot of GXP guys have bought and loved the GM ceramic pads. My question is, does GM make ceramic pads for the Impala SS too?
I think the answer is no, but thought I'd ask.

The answer is YES! and they work real fine, very little dirt/dust on wheels.
I`ll see if I still have the P/N when I get home.

FWIW, stock SS pads are GM Ceramic, aren't they?
Anyway, I have the GM ceramics on the rear, and Hawk HPS Street on the front and they work well together. No noise at all and great stopping power. I only went this way b/c I bought the ceramics on ebay for $20 a year ago, and when the rotors finally warped beyond repair, I had no money to upgrade as I had planned. I got Corny40's used OE rotors, and bought the $75 Hawk pads, and went to town.
Check RockAuto...I believe you'll find that all '06 OE pads are GM/ACDelco Ceramic.

I have a brand new set of front ceramic brake pads for the Monte/Impala that I ordered accidentally. They obviously don't fit my GXP. I paid $45; best offer gets 'em! The parts department took them out of their plastic bag, but they're new.
BTW: GXP front pads are part number 19108021. I ended up paying $65 from the dealer but gmpartsdirect.com has front SS/GXP pads for $45.

Also, do we have shims on the brake pads? if so, do we need them?

yeah, I believe the stocks on the Monte/Impala SS's are ceramics...
I've never had any brake dust on my wheels... and I'm still on the stock pads - at 70,xxx miles...
however, I'm due for new ones at this point, during my next service in another couple thousand miles...

I ended up getting ceramics from Murrays on the fronts along with new rotors. I greased the "slider" bolts as someone suggested on another post to help with pulsating and this thing is finally right!

I called the local GM dealer to inquire about GM ceramics. I also thought that my car had ceramics because there is little to no brake dust. The parts dept informed me that our cars do not come with Ceramics, but they do have them. They shot me a price of $61/set, so for about $122 all 4 wheels could be equipped with Ceramic brake pads
Not to hijack the thread, but I just purchased a set of R1 cross drilled and slotted rotors. I am thinking about the GM ceramics, or maybe the EBC Red Stuff Pads. What is everyone's take?

i got my brakes from Jim@Brakemotive.com here on LS1 and they are no joke. No dust and she'll stop so fast, she'll knock your fillings loose.
