Spintech Cat Back Installed -Video-
Alright guys, finally got all of my pieces together to build a full 3" mandrel system to replace my pieced together shambled mess of an exhaust. My current setup is a 3" catless DP into a stock cat back with no resonator, a cutout by the rear control arms, and 2 Flowtech Afterburner mufflers run through stock tips. I don't want to give away the ghost before I get the new muffler on but I'm hoping to kill some of the ungodly rasp my motor makes when I'm running through the mufflers. My main reason for making this, however is to have a much better flowing exhaust to back up the new headers. The added plus will hopefully be a little bit of originality. I know this thread is useless until tomorrow, but can anyone guess what setup I'm going to use?
EDIT:
Put the exhaust on today, finally! Well, it's mostly on. I still have to run it another foot or so with a tip to get it out from under the car. It got dark on me installing it so before/after videos and pictures will come a little later. Right now it's still dumped under the car and doesn't have any isolators on it so the vibration inside is pretty bad. However, this muffler really helps it not to sound so much like a farm truck.
I put a flange on 3" exhaust from the Hogan DP into a 4x6x12" Spintech Pro Street muffler. Then I did around a 75* bend toward the passenger side with another foot or so of pipe going in the general direction of the back tire. In the next few days I'll be installing real hangers with isolators and running the exhaust on out the side of the car. If anything, I saved a good 40# by dumping the extra muffler and all that piping, but I'm SURE the 3" mandrel will flow a whole lot better than the stock piping. Well guys, sorry I don't have pics or vids yet but I promise they are coming.

As promised, it's not a great video but you can hear it in normal driving. I'll get a better one tomorrow:

That's the 3" piping. I'm trying to eliminate any bottlenecks before the headers go on, and I believe they are going to help with sounds tremendously. I have a theory as to why our cars sound the way they do. I believe the way the manifolds are designed, the pulses are upset by all the air from the front entering the flow of the back manifold. I have a feeling that's why it doesn't sound like an LS motor, the 4-7 swap can't be heard like it can in other LS engines therefore: we sound more like a Gen 1 or 2 engine.
