Your ls4 travels! Calling all ls4s :)
So, I'm not sure if this is a thread or not, and I don't wanna wake up a old thread so I'm starting a new one! How many people driver their ls4 cars out of town and how many miles or from where to what destination! And has it been comfy! I'll start since it's my thread .
I have yet to drive mine outta town, kinda scared to with all the transmission issues, however since my tune and tranny cooler, I don't have any pull off slips or nothing really, I will be having a couple of you review the tune I got custom made from the dyno. I'm thinking about making a trip from St. Louis to Kansas which is about 800 m to and from!
So where have you been? ;D

Taken mine on a 300 mile trip to STL several times and it never skipped a beat. Trans did get up to about 230 in some stop and go in 90 degree weather but cooled back off once we got rolling again.

Longest I've done in mine is 6 hours straight.
All of my long trips are generally 3-5 hours.
I always take the Super if I can as it's comfortable and had exactly what you need on long trips on one lane roads - lots of passing power. It's also the circumstance that the ls4 is actually good on gas in.
No issues (Aside from stone chips ) on the long haul!

Ahah well I think Ima def try and take mine outta town soon, I'm waiting on my hid harness to come in, my old one ran away from me @.@, and I gotta get my tires rotated before too. I haven't clocked my trans temp since installing the cooler stand alone, I haven't had any shudders or slips besides when it doesn't know whether to set in 3rd or 4th on the highway.

Been daily driving ours since day one around 65k miles.
First week off used lot, water pump goes.
Same month first road trip to around des Moines Iowa from Cincinnati, low oil light comes on. Dealer fixed oil consumption issue when i got home. Told them trans bangs as well, they threw a kit at it, and i threw a converter and shift kit.
Got a lew tune immediately after (wrong move in hindsight should have went hp tuners)
Multiple road trips since now at 108ish getting ticks on cold start startups again. Thinkin about
Hp tuners, figure out the ls6 swap and valley cover, headers, trunion, lifters and pushrods with a specd out cam.
Actuallu Bout to go change oil now Castrol syntec 5-30 and fram xg3506.

Just got back from a weekend trip from Melbourne, FL to the north side of Atlanta (~550mi each way... 1st trip over ~200mi since I got it 2yrs ago). All 3 of us in the car were comfortable the whole time, and enjoyed the cruise.
Near-stock pcv system provided alot of puffs to my buddy following us during each slight kick-down, and tranny temps got to 215-221 degF during stop & go traffic around ATL a couple times with my OEM setup. All returned to normal under regular 75mph cruising, and behaved fine if I started playing around.
