exhaust pop... please read seemes abnormal
I am getting an exhaust pop after i rev my engine and it is decelrating. I rev it up to 4k and when the revs are coming down it makes a LOUD pop, it only pops once too. i have custom race mufflers that are very free flowing

Just my guess, but if you rev it up that high I would expect some popping..Keyword "popping" one single pop is strange...at least for me. I often experience one louder pop preceded and followed by slightly softer ones. Are you revving the engine as soon as you turn it on? try letting the engine warm up a little. Still, doesn't seem that abnormal to me.

Thats normal with the lt1. The biggest thing that will help is a custom tune. When I first got my tune 3 years ago the pop went away then came back. I lived with it for 20,000 miles. My opti went out recently due to one of the rotor screws backing out. After I changed my opti the exhaust has never sounded so good. I think the stupid rotor must of had enough play to mess with the timing.

I started to notice the pop when I was running my car without an exhaust on it
The only leak I have is right where the collectors meet the y and after each shift I hear it pop now , and now the car is shaking under hard acceleration. I cant think of anything, just a week ago it had a nice smooth accel and decel now its acting wired

k so i drove it and its popping at low rpm acceleration.about 1200-1500 rpm. it consecutively pops but under wot it clears up. it idles smooth at about 850 rpm but i can feel a misfire through out the chassis, the tach doesnt fluctuate either and it doesnt seem to have a complete miss. checked injectors and pulled them one by one but it didnt change the random misfire. there is definately a solid miss. im thinking it may need a cap and rotor since the motor has appx 160k on it and 60k on a rebuild. the didnt know if it had ever had a cap and rotor. it has summit plug wires and ngk tr-55's, spark is very clean and strong on each cyl when i tested it. one thing that i deleted that may effect some of the pcm readings is the ECT. although i dont see this causing a hard misfire it could keep the engine from going into closed loop. it also has a madz28 tune. im running an areomotive eliminator fuel pump (1600hp rated) which is way over kill i know, but i picked it up for 100 bucks. the fuel pressure at the fuel rail is 80psi running, i think i may need an after market regulator because it seemes too high for a stock engine. the engine also starts hard and seemes like its flooded and requires me to open the throttle to clear it out. this pretty much concludes my diagnosis without using my tools from work (land rover tech) i feel that the fuel pressure is to excessive and i need a regulator. unfortunatly i havent wired in a DLC and my scanner is at work also.
let me know what you guys think, i have little knowledge compared to you GM gods!
Thanks!

Way too much fueal pressure, thats most likely your problem, its running rich, mine did that when i jacked my pressure up to 55+, so drop it down to about 45 psi, i'll bet it stops doing it, all it is is un-burnt fuel in the headers.

i didnt read everything in the thread, but what kind of shape are the o2 sensors in? my bird popped under accel and had a miss and the one wire for the o2 fell off soldered it back on and runs perfect.

At that much pressure you might be causing an injector or two or three to stick shut. I recently watched a bunch of youtube injector videos linked from LTXtech that show examples of this. I believe stock pressure is 43.5 psi for LT1/LT4 motors.
Otherwise, like everyone is saying, if you rev and then let off it real quick, its very normal/common to hear a couple pops from the exhaust.

My exhaust was popping alot, but it was because i was running rich mainly due to the fact that i cut the screen off my MAF sensor and messed it up. or at least thats what the garage said (help me out on this if im wrong)

put the regulator on today and still seemes to miss a little at idle. when the throttle is snapped it is very sluggish/ stumbeling and i can hear a popping from the intake. the motor seemes like an injector is bad. i proceded to unplug injectors individually and it seemed to really effect the idle and stumble more espically when i unplugged #1 and 4. when i plugged them back in it did not correct the stumble instantly but took a few seconds to clear up. could this be bad injectors?
