Default lt1 missing problems

well here goes, i have a '94 formula m6, and i'm having a few issues with it. when i first bought it, the opti was bad. so i replaced it with a used unit. well it seems to have a dead miss at idle, and intermidently in the upper rpm's.. i realise every one's first inclination is to blame the opti, but i'm not so sure. i have narrowed down the miss, to the front cyl, on the passenger bank. when i pull the injector plug, and it makes no difference. i have replaced the injector, checked the plug, and it has a nice clean burn pattern, and it's dry. i have not run a compression test, but i have checked valve lash and it's correct. also i have taken a timing light and hooked it to that cyl plug wire, and it has a consistant flash, so i would think that would indicate it is firing correctly. it just seems to lack power, and on a really cold morning when it first cranks, it will run strong, and lay the tire down in 3 gears. also, it runs like absolute crap in 6th gear, it lugs horribly, and when crusing, it will randomly lose power, if i back off the gas, and get back into it, it runs ok, and some times it does that just driving around in the lower gears.. it's driving me insane.. im sure its probably the opti, but i want to be sure, every time there is a running issue with an lt car, people automaticly blame the opti. and it will run for ever and ever and not go dead, unlike a typical opti problem i have replaced the coil, ign module, and the fuel filter..

sorry if my post is not very cohearant.. haha. but any ideas would be great

plug wires are fine. and again, the injectors are firing... now it just runs consistantly shitty it has a dead cyl for sure. it won't hardly get loose in the rain in 2nd gear.. i can hear the miss. im thinking it is the dist cap.. also when i had the car about 6 months ago, i raced a friend's wrx, and got him by about 4 cars. and i raced him again, and now his boost is turned down, and he had about a car on me. so yeah. its not up to par

i'm sorry, but 02's would have an affect on ALL cyl's across the board. there is no way it would cause one dead cyl. and it's not throwing a code
