? about cam swap
I want to install a CC503 this spring. Can I get away with just changing the valve spring? Or would I have to change the pushrods, locks, retainers, etc? I am on a very small budget. Thanks!

ya, if you can't afford to do it wright, wait till you can,or it will give you problems...
i don't see roller rockers on you'r list. you really don't want to put a cam in without a set of RR.

performance cam installs are only beneficial if you use the complimenting componets:
gaskets
hardened pushrods
guide plates
roller rockers 7/16
7/16 studs
new valve springs
new valve seals
new timing chain
these things just work with each other, matched durability!
would you use a condom knowing it had a hole in it?
would you reuse the same condom?

the larger cam will cause more friction in the rocker arms and cause more heat wich wont be good for your now 13 year old motor. not to mention you'r going to need a tune too,
if I were you,I would just get the rockers now and wait on the cam till you can do it wright...just my 2 cents

CC503 with 1.6 RR VS. Hotcam kit - How much of a difference would there be in track times (with the mods in sig)? I know that the CC503 would have a little more horsepower but I am more interested in track times, not HP numbers.

Do what I did...I am running the CC503 in my '97 SS.
CC503
CC Promagnum 1.6 NSA rr's - part # 1305-16
TF Chromemoly pushrods - part # 21407xxx (last three digits correlate to specific pushrod length, mine was 7.2")
TF guideplates - part # 30400623-8
ARP 7/16" rocker arm studs - part # 134-7103
Comp 918 beehive springs w/ seats, locks, & retainers (I used the Crane 10308 dual valve spring kit)
new valve seals
new timing set
You will also have to add the cost of fluids, gaskets, rtv, thread locker, etc.
