Where can i get a freaking timing set?!
I have a 1993 lt1 wich i believe is different than the 1994-1997 lt1 timing set. But I can't find new one! I'v got the engine out right now and it's got 100,000 miles on it. I wanted to throw a new one on while its out. Any info is appreciated. thanks

thanks guys. So do you know who sells a set? I still have to get the front cover off and look at the sprockets so i might be able to just get a chain, i would just like to do it all now if you know what i mean.

As long as it's all open, I would replace the whole timing set if its got 100k miles on the clock. GMpartsdirect has some of the best prices around, but they usually take a while to ship. Have you tried Scoggin-Dickey?

I have the 1993, so its a splined opti,(the later opti's aren't splined??) but i have the msd rebuild kit so it is vented. I did find this on the lt4 extreme duty (i don't need it) timing set readout.
To convert 1993 and 1994 engines, you must use camshaft P/N 10224242, distributor P/N 1104032, timing cover P/N 12552426, vac harness P/N 12554395, and vac fitting P/N 14082470.
WTF!! seriously haha

Yes, the cam gears are different. They are splined for the 92-94. If you were to swap out to vented opti (timing cover, cam, etc) you could use any SBC timing set.
