Default track times, opinions?

had a best motor pass tonight of 13.2 @ 100 mph. best nitrous pass was 12.5 @ 111 mph. 60 foot times were consistently in the low 1.8's with a best of 1.78

current mods are: ps long tubes, ory with a single bullet dumped, k&n cai, metal elbow, airfoil, 3.42 rear end, built 4l60e from performabuilt, 3200 stall performabuilt tc, and nitrous express 100 shot through a nozzle. hooking on 275 bfg drag radials. untuned, STOCK 170k mile suspension, no weight reduction other than spare tire and corbeau seats

so what do ya'll think of the times? i was honestly hoping to crack 12's on motor and then hopefully a 12.3 on nitrous. i'm happy with the nitrous times given the n/a times. what is holding me back from 12's on motor?

forgot to add, it was about 80* out with humidity in the high 90% range. it was pretty steamy feeling, and the car was heat soaked pretty bad even with the fan switch on constantly

MPH/ET seems to show you've got a great 60' and 1/8th, and the car is hurting for more topend. I'm sure your hot and humid conditions didn't help your power production - I'm wondering were you seeing any knock retard? If the car is yanking a bunch of timing - and thats very possible given the heat, it would explain the relatively stockish mph on the motor. You mentioned the car is untuned, I'm sure that wouldn't hurt.

I vote 1.6rr/supporting valvetrain and then a tune for consistent 12's on the motor, and maybe some 11's on the giggle gas...

Times seem about right to me given the weather conditions. My friend's car went 102mph and the only mods were shorty headers and catted Y, open Borla cat back, cold air and mail order tune. 273 gears too. But that was a night when it was in the 60's I think.

I'm pretty sure you could gain like 2 or 3mph on a cool night.

You should definitely be seeing higher mph. ET seems about right though.

You've got some left on a cooler night for sure. See sig for comparison.

Wow, 13.3 in vert through stock manifolds, just cold air, catback, and a tune! What gears? What was your '60 and trap speed like? Thats impressive, very cool.

i know it will run better on a cooler night. the trap speed was what it was before on nitrous, but i dropped 2 tenths off of my previous best nitrous e.t. i'm hoping to get back out on a night when the humidity is down and its not so muggy. the plan is to have it tuned within the next couple of months so we'll see how that helps

MPH seems a little low. . . are you on stock TB?

Just for comparison too, at nearly 2000' DA my car ran a 12.9 @ 104 w/ a 1.9 60'

My car has the exact same mods as you do, except for the Speed Inc Cadillac Cam which is small.

I was on stock TB as well when i made that pass, and since have changed the TB to a ported stocker 52mm and it feels night and day difference between the 2 TB's. I would reccomend getting a ported stocker or just stepping up to a 58mm AM peice.

i was just reading your thread the other day about your tb. if i can find one i'll get a ported stocker before i get it tuned. but as far as performance mods, that, a tune, and a couple other small bolt-ons is all i'll be doing for awhile. i just hope that is enough to make up for the top end it doesn't really seem to have

Well the TB really did improve top end and throttle response, and i forgot to add i did have a tune when i ran that time, that might be you problem. Do you have a stock Knock Module? cause if so they are really sensitive and need to be turned down a little with a tune, or at least replace your stock one with a LT4 KM.

The N/A times are good for a full weight car but I figured on the juice you'd be closer low 12s/ high 11s. I was thinking of a 100shot on mine before doing the motor swap.

i know of someone with a very similar setup with a bone stock engine, LTs catback on stock suspension, stock stall, 3.23 gears nitto drag radial and a 100 shot that ran a 12.1 at 111 in 98* weather
