My Air Conditioner stinks BAAAADD!!
This is on my 94 Z28. It sat for almost a year then i bought it. The kid said the air didn't work when he had it either. Anyway I fixed it and the air is nice and cold but it smells really bad. I didn't notice it till I got out of the car then came back out later and got in. Opened the door and it smells like mold or something. Anybody heard of this?

You probably should clean your evaporator drain line while you're at it. That's what leaves the puddle of water under the car with the A/C running, and they clog up pretty easily too.

If you go to a GM dealership ask for coil coating. It helps prevent mold. When I have used this I always made a pin size hole in the evaporator case between the blower and evaporator with blower on high. Pull the A/C relay to prevent the compressor from coming on while spraying. Spray in short bursts until can is gone, but try not to inhale what comes out the vents. After you are done spraying turn on recirculation or max a/c with the A/c relay removed and max heat and you can use some dudum to seal the pin size hole, or as I call it gorilla snot. Close the doors with windows slightly cracked and run the blower for about 10-15 minutes to dry coating. After you are done you might want to spray some lysol for a better odor. I usually sprayed the lysol on the passenger side floor mat. I never sprayed through the cowl due to coating the blower motor. I wanted all the coating to go on the evaporator. I have done this to a ton of vehicles, I am in DFW area, and it is very common. The moldy odor was gone afterward, but still could smell the coating. That is why I would spray some lysol after I was done.
