Default Prob with OPTI from thepartsladi???

I recently bought a new opti from the partsladi off of ebay...ive heard several people say they are good genuine opti's from GM. well i got it in, had my mechanic put it on, and it doesnt work. has this happend to anyone else? just wondering if i should allow them to send me another one or get my money back and go somewhere else? Mechanic said the fuel injectors where not getting a pulse from the opti, where as with the old one it was not firing. any help is appreciated.

thepartsladi gets their optis from GM - they are all genuine Delco. How is your mechanic diagnosing it? Sounds like he's just looking for the easy excuse to get more of your money. Not exactly smart business practice to immediately blame the customer for bad parts.

Anyone can occasionally get a bad opti. Have them send another if you are sure it is the problem and not the electrical harness (it's not a bad idea to change that, too).

Like shbox said, Did you change the harness? I have seen that cause issues aswell. I can remember threads from the past about replacing the opti and still no fire. Ended up being the opti harness. Try a search you might be able to dig up some old threads on it.

If you do send it back for a replacement, you will need the original box it came in. I have had no problems with our opti from them. They are original Delco products. With that said, it is possible to get any product new that is deffective. I would check your opti harness first though.

i got a bad one from them also... just called them and told them what the deal was and they sent me a new one... it just took a little while because they had to get the old one picked up and delivered to them before they would send the new one out, which is understandable
but yeah i would also recommend replacing the opti harness while you're at it just as added insurance

I've bought a few Opti's from them and have never had any issues. They are my go to place for genuine GM units.

Unless you know someone at the dealer, there is a good chance you paid hundreds of dollars more than is necessary. I've priced some stuff through my local dealer, and in comparison to what Jason Cromer charges for example, I felt as if I were being asked to shoot some lubeless gay ****. I was shocked the first time I did a price comparison between my hometown dealer and Jason.

Yea you are right, This was years ago but I did know of someone in the parts dept that gave me a good price, I don't even remember what I paid back then.

I have not had the GM opti itself fail, but have had two brand GM/ACdelco optis's rotor break apart.

Swapped to an MSD cap and rotor and have been good to go so far!

alright how much are these harness's and do you have to remove the opti to install it? And yes i went to LT1 because my ls1 was rearend at 80 mph and the LT1 is/will be my DD in relief of my cobra. I do plan on upgrading to a ls1 DD very soon though....

No you do not have to pull the opti off to replace the harness. Here is a harness link.
