Just curious to see what some of you guys can achieve. I can't put down a good 60 so save my life! What is your setup?

I cut a 1.48 60' last weekend at the shootout. I'm pretty sure Taner and Brady cut much better 60' times than that.

I've got a Strange S60 with 4.10's, Strange DA coil overs in the front, KYB SA shocks in the back with stock springs, BMR Adjustable TA, BMR sway bar. The bad thing is that I think my Tru-Trac is shot. I guess I'll be looking at a spool now. I also plan on upgrading to Strange SA shocks in the back and an anti-roll bar in place of the sway bar.

I've been a 1.42 on motor. Setup at the time was wolf sway bar, bmr torque arm, moser 9"/4.71s, 28x10.5W MTs. I've since gone to full madman suspension, burkhart top mount sway, Narrowed burkhart 9"/4.57s, on the same tire with hall shocks on both ends. We are still tuning it in but expect 60's in the 1.3s. I think Tanner has gone 1.2x on the jug. I also have a 2 step setup and that was a 6000 rpm launch on a ram 910 clutch, alum flywheel. I plan on that launch rpm moving up..lol. If you want to really 60' with a 6 speed get ready to break stuff...its part of the game.

5,000rpm launch on both:
1.45 on 26x10 Mickey Thompson ET Drags, 4.11 gear, and M29 1993 T56 3,350lbs
1.53 on 28" Hoosier Drag Radials, "", "", 3505lbs

oh, and don't let anyone tell ya you can't launch a 6sp on drag radials, but it does help to use the 275/60s for the sidewall.

Yeah no kidding, I was watchin your car launch at the ltxshootout and was amazed your car was working so well on radials! Whats your suspension set-up?

front: qa1 adj shocks w/ 275lb springs, BMR upper/lower a-arms, UMI k-member

rear: kenny brown adj. LCAs, UMI adj. torque arm (set at -2 degrees pinion angle), kenny brown adj panhard bar, stock replacement shocks, stock springs w/o isolator, airlift air bags (45lbs pass rear, 30lbs driver rear), with a KTRE 12 bolt w/ 4.11 gear. Rear mounted battery in the spare tire hole too for weight transfer.

for the record, i couldn't hook on 26" (275/50s) drag radials when i had hyperco lowering springs, but on stock springs and 28" (275/60s) i did.

I had been running on slicks so long that i made the statement over on the ltx forum that i figured the car would run 11.80s w/ full interior, full exhaust, and radials. I was shocked myself when the hoosier DRs did as good as they did...especially when i've always heard ppl say DRs won't work w/ a manual trans.

I'll take the slightly less 60' for the stability of the DR anyday!

I think the 28" hoosiers DRs are the ticket for a stick box car... but youll need the power to make use of themr. Every car I have seen with the Hoosier DR works very good.

Where were you at the shootout? Six speed shootout didn't go down without you.

I cut 1.47-1.48 consistent on the motor, except for last weekend 1.72 and still went 10.35@ 134

I'm trying for 1.3X's , all madman suspension and afco's, 4.71. Was on a McLeod twin now a softloc

Sweet, thx for the info Sounds very similar to my set-up, just mine is untested so far Gonna give it a try as soon as I can get my junk fixed. If it doesn't work in current configuration, I now know of a few things to try

Life happened...Car was ready and I was racing that weekend just with everything going on with my business and clients couldn't in my mind justify taking a day off work. Was forced to take the friday before because of lasic sugery, and the friday following for a wedding so another friday was out of the question in my mind. From what I saw that weekend before my starter died 10.4s @ 135 spinning thru first on 1.6 60's in 2800 da weather, so I'm excited about wha the car has in it...and I still need to make the e-85 conversion. Sorry you had trouble and really sorry i missed all the fun...and the 6 speed shootout. I'm planning on next year again... I was really looking forward to meeting everyone.

nice set up. Ive always loved your car. what gear are you in and what RPM are you at when your going through the traps? I have 4:10s and I was shifting at 5800 going through the traps in 5th too much shifting

with 4.10s in my car on a 26" tire I was crossing the traps 6800-7000, with 28" tires it took gearing away and I cross close to 6200-6300. Good thing I have nitrous to fix that issue.

I thought manuals werent supposed to run radial tires since they need the soft sidewall to absorb some of the shock on takeoff?

Thanks! I'm crossing the traps in 4th at around 6,500 RPM with 28X10.5 M/T ET Drags.

Actually an M6 or heavy car would want to run a stiffer tire to help reduce sidewall distortion. You want the tire to transfer as much of the initial shock to the suspension as possible. This was how the tech guys at M/T explained it to me.

They pretty much do like stiff wall bias ply tires. There are very few cars that get down good on a radial. The hoosier DRs seem to work well on Alans car and every auto car ive seen, but I have not seen many other manual cars do as well as he did.
