Default weird color in slave reservoir?

This past weekend i topped off the fluids before a road trip and noticed the fluid in the slave reservoir was a gun-metal color? Does anyone know what could be making it change colors or why? But the clutch and slave cylinder are working fine so im just curious about it.

If the fluid is getting darker or cloudy it means contaminants are in the fluid. This is normal from driving and clutch dust making its way into the system near the slave. If it gets dirty enough it can cause problems with the slave and master cylinder not working properly.

I believe it is from the inside of the hose/hydraulics breaking down. If clutch dust was getting in , then that means fluid should be leaking out. Its a sealed system except for the cap.

Yup, not dust. Water in the air slowly contaminates both clutch and brake fluid as they both have an affinity for water and soak it up.

Oh, I thought it was dust. The info I got was from McLeod when I was on the phone with them talking about rebuilding my master cylinder. Either way there the fluid still needs to be replaced with fresh/clean fluid.

Yep, its never a bad idea to flush it just because. Brake fliud is very harmfull to what ever it touches.
