EFI connection guys!! RPM limit on your setup
#4
Aside from Cranberry and S10Wildside, I don't know of many who actually have their 24xs dialed in yet.
FWIW, my limiter is set at 8000 at the moment.
We'll adjust that once we finish the dyno tune and set shift points.

Having tuning experience with both PCMs (more with LSx), I can say the LSx is like bareback sex while the LTx computer is like wearing 2 rubbers. A standalone ECM is comparatively dryholing Jessica Alba.

I had the stock 93 LT1 ECM before this, it can be made to work but just like the LT1 PCM of later years but it was next to impossible to find any one local willing to mess with it. I didn't have any optis problems so that wasn't a plus or a minus either way. The EFI 24X was chosen because it uses GM parts, the harness was like factory and I can use soft ware like HPtuners to tune the car. Unfortunatley it never got tuned, work got in the way and it's been sitting a lot. Going back to do Kooks Long Tubes and a new Y pipe, after that it'll get tuned. The car has a stock short block, Dart Pro-1 Heads ported by L.M.E and an off the shelf CC306 cam. Not sure what it'll spin to, what ever it makes power too, I could care less for hurting the stock short block.

IIRC, My limiter is currently set to 7500.
I'm loving the setup. Not only is it much more tuner-friendly, it's cleanly put together by the guys at EFI Connection, it's well-designed, robust, and dependable.
To me, it really converts the ignition system to something much less complicated. With individual coils, it wouldn't be too hard to diagnose a cylinder misfire. No more high/low res codes, no more opti ghost issues to chase.
Go for it, and don't look back.

EXACTLY why im asking about the cam specs and how they are effected by the RPM especially while using the lsx pcm. I want to see what cams people are using and what RPM they are taking the ltx block to on a HR cam with 5/16" pushrods, ls7 lifters and pro mags.
