Default Would a burnt plug wire boot cause the engine to hold back?

I burnt my #7 wire boot on the header, day before i discovered it the engine would hold back around 2k. Would that cause it to hold back like that or would it just make it run sloppy?

Well the reason im asking such a dumb question is because when i seen the burnt wire i disconnected it, started the car, and it didnt hold back, just ran sloppy.

because when you unplugged it you just had a dead cylinder, but when it is plugged you have a cylinder with intermittent spark which holds your engine back.

Well mine seems to run ok, except the one day it started struggling at low RPM. Then I had noticed the boot was directly on the header, burnt almost to the wire, then i moved it and put heat resistant tape on it just to get it home. It ran ok but still felt like it had no ***** at idle

I had a burnt wire before and if i blipped the throttle the Rpms would only go up to 2000 rpms but if I slowly rolled into it, it would go to red line.

To resolve this issue, I ordered a OTVC kit from CC Performance with MSD Superconductor wires. I also ordered 8 heat resistant spark plug boot protectors off Jegs, they are about 6 inches long each. THESE WIRES ARE NOT GETTING BURNT lol
